Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
I agree, but other than buckets that's a pretty low option truck for a CST. Doesn't even have power steering or brakes.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
yep, agree low optioned - I really just want to see the gold trim in a 514 red paint interior truck, don't think I've ever seen that before. CST+buckets is a nice combo, but that must've run the original buyer out of money before he could get the more practical options. Guess he just wanted to look good getting there, no matter how much work it was.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
I am just wondering if you have seen the vehicle. I would like to know more about it from a hands-on point of view. I have family in the Tahoe area and have bought trucks from out your way before.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
Vintage camper shell for those of you of the short fleet persuasion $300
Hard enough to find for a long bed, let alone a short! Good price assuming it's not falling apart. And one for you lwb folks as well $150 This one a little more mid-70's era. |

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
I requested measurements and he replied and posted them.. I thought it was an odd amount of overhang and hoping maybe for a longhorn
based on his description, sounded like he would know what a typical longbed would measure and maybe the camper was odd sized.. longhorn is 105" front cap to tailgate tip to tip btw.. Quote:

69 C20 Custom Camper $8500
69 C10 lwb $15.5K (someone please buy it and drop that camper shell off at my house on your way home...) Looks like a 70 grille to me. Last edited by jocko; 03-21-2020 at 10:40 PM. |

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
I would also like to know the difference. In any pictures that I see, they look the same but I have heard they are different and that the 1970 grille is not reproduced?

Dave - correct, the 70 is not reproduced, and the 69 that is reproduced is often marketed as a 69-70, further confusing the issue. Last edited by jocko; 03-22-2020 at 09:52 AM. |

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
Here's a picture of the inner and outer grilles put on my '69 after an idiot slammed into the front of my truck in early 1972. Looked just like the one on the Craigslist truck. Both were genuine GM parts. I removed some of the black paint on the center bar (reduced the width of the horizontal lines and the paint adjacent to the parking turn signals) to make the outer grille look more like the original.
Based on the paperwork posted with the ad, that is definitely a '69.

Here's a post from our build thread that illustrates the repro version more closely: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...&postcount=429 Go to the whole thread to see how we made it look like a 1970.
