Re: What did you do to your truck today?

I painted my engine. Needs a couple more coats. I cleaned and put Calyx on my manifolds. I also sandblasted a few parts.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

My passenger side notch was @ 3/8" off center to top of the axle tube - not happy - but it "will work"... tube hits the snubber.

I relieved the front lower edge a bit with the grinder and dressed it up.

Moved the driver's side notch up a bit to correct and I got it welded in yesterday.

My buddy Keith say's I'm a mad-man for attempting it in the first place - it was my first time doing something like this... scary.

No guts - no glory... DONE with the NOTCH-OHS!

With the bed sills on pads and full extension of the rear suspension to the snubbers it looks like it could hit the bed wood at some point.

Raising the bed floor for clearance I guess...

Rear 4" drop springs today.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

With the 62 original rear still in I decided to "finish" the rear drop to see what it will look like when I am actually done with the chassis and suspension...

I have to figure out shock placement, pinion angle for saddles on new rear, and so on.

I have another question -

Are any of you that went 5 1/2" front // 6" rear on a static drop running a rear tank and has it been a problem?

I got the rear-tank conversion "kit" from Brothers and I'm looking at making that work somehow too.

Thanks doesn't really cover the gratitude I have for this site...

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Shot the base color for part of the firewall. I only had a tiny bit of paint, but I stretched enough to cover enough of the portion that I wanted blue. The rest will be satin black, like the inner fenders and under hood.

I'll clear it tomorrow night after work (hopefully). I was supposed to be finished with the firewall AND the frame, but I spent a lot of time sanding some more on the firewall. Still didn't take it all the way to bare metal everywhere (wished I would have). I also had a comparability issue with the rusty metal primer and the self-etching primer; it ended up cracking. I guess I didn't wait enough for the rusty metal primer to cure, so it was still off gassing and shrinking. I was able to cover it with some high build primer and sand it down so it doesn't show. Aggravating though.

Alright, I even flipped the picture upside down in photoshop and it still came out upside down on the post! Sorry, I tried!
