Here's a post from our build thread that illustrates the repro version more closely:

Go to the whole thread to see how we made it look like a 1970.

EDIT: Hmm, this should probably be a separate thread subject.
thanks very much for the replies - I learn something new every day on here. This is good news in case I ever pounce on a 70... Seems odd that they would make the replacement part with a different number of embossed (or debossed, or whatever) vertical separators, regardless of the solid coloring - kinda makes it not match either grille perfectly. Still a good thing - thanks again.

I always preferred the 70 insert. But, you never see them much.

They do have this sweet truck there. It was in a movie, I forget which one he told me it was from, but very cool non the less.

Phooey - I somehow missed it was just the bed. Ugh. I guess I should've said rare bed instead of rare bird.

What a mess of mismatched parts on the engine and appears to be a factory A/C truck but not the proper controller in the cab?

Later model engine with a spliced up harness to reach the wrong side alternator to start with.

1970 GMC 3/4 ton with a claimed 35,000 miles. $18,500. Can that green interior possibly be correct with the blue exterior?

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

1970 CST Longhorn big block. 92,800 miles? $9800. Might be worth a look. I posted this on Feb. 11 but apparently didn't include a link. More pics here.
https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...postcount=7613

Price has been reduced from $11,500 to $9800. I'm surprised it's still for sale. Has anyone looked at it?

I find this truck very interesting - the CamperLiner badge was bantered about here on the 60-66 side of the house many years ago. First I've ever seen it on 67-72 era truck. It falls somewhere in the myth/mystery category as an added badge in conjunction with Vista-Liner cabover campers -or- a NM-based dealer that offered them back in the mid-60's to early 70's. Who knows...

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

Here’s my 67 GMC with that same badge and what I found out about it when I did a little research.

In NM there was camper dealer who also owned a GMC dealership next door to his camper dealership and would put those campers on the GMC trucks and sell them off the GMC lot ready to go camping or across country.

Once camper was installed on trucks they would also get the matching badge for advertising.

That’s what I know about it anyway.

That’s what I call a smart businessman.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

All coming together - thanks for posting that Rods. Interesting the different placements on the fenders. I spoke to the seller of the GMC in post 7768. Truck isn’t a Custom Camper and he bought it in Abq NM a few years ago. Said he got a similar story from seller then regarding a specific NM dealer that added these badges. This and your note all lines up with some of the discussion on the 60-66 forums a few years ago. Pretty darn cool. (And yes, the green interior is original and on the SPID). Seller was a very nice gentleman, believes 30k mileage original, but didn’t want to advertise it as such.
