Re: What did you do to your truck today!
speaking of headlights, just came back from a 700 plus mile road trip and my truck is so high I couldn't see the road due to normal halogens in it so just upgraded to HID headlights today, wow what a difference, can't wait for the next roadtrip...have to save for gas first.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
The hanger bearing design sucks though, see you even had some extra welded to the sides.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Changed the oil and filter.
Had some "soft" in the brake pedal. No one else around. So, I started at the rear passengers side drum and cracked the bleeder (after I made sure the m/c was full). Took about 20 seconds and then out came some brake fluid. Repeat on the driver's rear drum. Maybe 10 seconds this time and I got some gravity-fed juice. The two front calipers only took less than five seconds each until I got some. Brake pedal was "hard" on the test drive...Great!!!! I was surprised. I'll have to do it again when I have help. But that was good for a solo-run. When I pulled back into the house after the test, the LMC gap cover (covering the space between the grille and radiator core) was sitting in a box at the front gate. I put it on. Easy fit. I kinda wish it was made out of heavier stock. They advertised, "polished aluminum"...I guess it *is* aluminum. But I couldn't really tell it from shiny sheet metal. I like it, though. A good day.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
I finally decided what I would do and dropped the carb and rebuild kit off at a garage for the job.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
HorsePower! I guess.... I used to break them all the time in my 69. That is until I made one out of heavy steel and urathan bushing. That is the only way I know, it is just a crappy design.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Another bit of fun in the garage today. Had some left-over carpet. The chunk from my failed attempt at creating a home-grown headliner.
So I cut *it* up to make some kick panels for below the door panels. Cleaned up the elec. window wiring. Tightened a cab mount and called it a day.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
This is usually caused by improper drive line angles and or unbalanced drive shaft. This is very common when a truck is lowered and the drive line angles are not corrected. This is very uncommon on a truck with stock suspension.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
It is common with a lot of HP though, torque is hard on them.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
I changed the oil and oil filter. It has been over a year and a half since I last changed the oil. I have put on over 10,000 miles highway on the old 350 with in the last year alone.
Went through a devastating break-up over a year ago that really took me down. Just now really putting my life back together. Keith |
