Yes they were very road worthy, not real fast probably 30-40 mph tops. The post office had a lot of them that I remember. It's been awhile but I believe the one my father had was a Cushman air cooled twin cylinder engine 3 on the tree.

A buddy bought one at a yard sale a few years ago that he got running and fixed a few things then resold it on Craigslist.

I also remember the local P.D. "Meter Maids" they called them then drove these things.

I had a yellow 67 and 68 at the same time, takes a certain kind to pull off yellow

That rings a bell! I'd forgotten seeing a couple of those. I don't recall the post office version though.

Some trim pieces that someone needs. They are not mine, but I wouldn't mind having the piece of wood they are resting on.

Stolen trucks!
Not an ad I like having to post. I have no connection with the owner but I do feel their pain as I had a GTO stolen years ago.

I had a '66 LeMans post car with a transplanted RA III 400 and 400 THM. That thing was a real kick to drive. I was out of the Navy by then and decided to go home via Van Nuys Blvd one Friday night. I had most of a 327 in the trunk, as I was building it for my dad's pickup, which I think was a '53. I got in a stoplight to stoplight drag race with a guy in a '66 or '67 GTO with a 4-speed (given the variation in engine speed). That LeMans had terrible traction problems, especially with the 3.55 axle, posi and 11" tires notwithstanding. That ballast in the trunk helped a lot. I was stopped at the light when they rolled up, every time. Mine was medium metallic blue, like they all got painted back in the mid-'70s.

I never even noticed. My Parents would be ashamed. They both retired from the local Post Office, and My Wife was a sub for my Mom.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

Bit of a scavenger hunt.. I see a 69-70 & what I think is a 68 K20 GMC. Lord knows what else may be there. Apparently he doesn't feel the GM trucks as are worth mentioning.

Like this one a lot but too many items not finished up to par for the asking price. Well, at least to me anyway. Might be right up someone's ally.

Good luck finding anything reasonable anymore. Everything is pretty pricey, and most of it still needs rust repair (not as much, but still needed).
