Re: Pops 72 cheyenne dropmember build

Thanks guys I am going to get the glass and interior done this week. Truck is running at 140 degrees right now. So next week we are going on the dyno for some tunning. I can't believe how nice this truck is to dtive. It drives like a brand new truck. After it is tunned I will do the burn out video.

Freaking awesome! Nothing better than a slammed black 67-72 with big rollers. Well done.

What did you do to the driveshaft?
I need to build one,... and want to get it right the first time.

Just make sure you go with a billet carrier bearing. I ruined mine. Thanks Eric

Re: Pops 72 cheyenne dropmember build

so you are talking cpp billet one? the x-member is pre drilled for the other carrier bearing that bolts across the width of the xmember. the cpp billet one bolts lenth wise which would mean you have to drill new holes right? Or did you ask Nate to see if that would work fine with his xmember? I have the oem one that he suggest but wanted the cpp billet one, maybe it twist to much because that mount pad is not that thick. Just a thought.

No this is not the issue I was having. I re drilled the cross member for the straight one. I moved the center cross member forward the other day because the wheels were not perfectly centered in the rear they were back by a quarter of an inch. When I moved it forward and drop the truck all the way with the bew location. I put lateral pressure on the carrier bearing and ruined it. It was my bad. I also spaced the carrier bearing up because it has an odd angle. The truck is fixed now so I will get some video and let you know. Later Eric

Thanks man so am I, the night before I went out with Mario and he stomped on it. We are lucky it did not break while we were moving. I get the truck back tomorrow. So we will see when I get it back from the engine shop.
