and Babe Ruth is from Baltimore and played for the red sox... they both made the smart decision to become legends in NY!

you should be able to make a Philly avatar, make sure it's a .bmp file if you are haveing issues. No "god button" here, just a mini-eraser that I can use as needed.

Theres even hatred toward the Yankees on the board? I can't wear my Yankees Hat or T shirt anywhere around here without getting crap, now the board even like that!

On a serious not for those who do like the Yankees... I was eating lunch at a diner a couple years ago here in Nebraska, and an older man walks by me with a Yankees hat on, and says to me nice hat (I was sporting my 5950 I got at Yankee Stadium earlier that year) And then he tells me his name is Bob Cerv, and he used to play for the yankees. I imediately realized who he was (Played with Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, Roger Maris ect.) and talked to him about baseball for like 10 min. It was awesome. I should have gotton him to sign my hat, but I didnt even think about it!

Good score Mike. Nice parts stash. I'm going down to the Moultrie swapmeet later this month to hopefully add to my stash as well.

Are you going to do any work on it this winter or just store it away?

Re: 68 K-10 SWB build thread - project Money Pit...pics galore!

I have a nice 3 week break in my MBA courses from 19 dec to Jan, and usually work half days for a bit during x-mas so hopefully I'll get some work done. I'm trying to get part of the basement finished so that I can store the wife's seasonal crap, then make room in the garage for her Tahoe, then work on my truck!

what you don't see in the picture is the bedsides, fenders, inner fender, rear wheel well and hoods that are stored. Also the brake lines, wood bed strips (still need wood) and tailgate...

Re: 68 K-10 SWB build thread - project Money Pit...pics galore!

well, my 2 week break is here.. hopefully in the next few days I can get my garage cleaned up, install my new air compressor and get some holes in the cab patched.

I'm still not sure if i should paint or PC the radiator support. I want to get it mounted (for good) so that I can fire it up and hange sheetmetal over the winter...

Stop making excuses, . You're young and only need 2-3 hrs of sleep a day...... Yeah the MBA and CS degree is doing me a lot of good right now, . The EMS folks are the only ones that want to talk to me right now....

Re: 68 K-10 SWB build thread - project Money Pit...pics galore!

well, some more good news on my end, semi good news that is.

For the past year i've been covering down on a job that's one rank higher than me. Well, three months ago I was moved into an office that is vacant, and one rank higher. Today they finally announced the job for hiring, I would hope that the odds of me getting it are 99% or greater. Especially since i'm squatting in the office and doing the job. Should know in three-four weeks. That would mean that i'd be a Major and make about $10K more a year. With that increase the wifey stated that I could drop the truck off at a bodyshop and get the paint finished up, that will probably be late summer before I see a paycheck increase though... Gov red tape at its finest!

I'll take it though, still only 35 years old, started out in the Army making $800 a month and now over $8,000 a month.

Did the pay scale go up for the Sim jobs? I think Rucker's starting out around $50K, or least that's what I've been told...

Sim jobs are high $60's, flightline jobs are high $70's with us.

you should talk to Computer Science Corp, LSI or S3 (systems simulations and studies)

What was the $80K job? Do you know what the Rucker guys make? I've been talking to CSC but they don't have anything down here right now. I'll take a look at LSI and S3.

since my pay is open to the public on the web i'll break it down as a recruiting tool... I started as a Private E-1 on active duty.. Uncle Sam has now paid for my college, taught me to fly, paying for my Masters, showed me the world and basically given me everything I have...

Captain (with prior service) with 16 years of service, making Major would be about $900 more

$5972 = Base Pay
$223 = Food Pay
$1637 = Housing Allowance (tax free & based on duty station)
$650 = Flight Pay
$8482 = Gross per month

I am all for recruiting, I just suggest that someone joins the AirForce vs. diggin ditches and burning crap as I have done in the past 16 years!

It all comes down to cost and preference as far as your rad support goes. A good rust preventative and paint should keep you from ever worrying about it again. But, you do have a good PC hook up. The 23 inches we got in Philly last Saturday, finally endeared the Burb to the wife and teenage daughter. The wife got to finish her christmas shopping in spite of the blizzard and the daughter got to go to and from her friends house. Snow = justifying improvements/cash to the burb!
My Christmas wish for you, is to get many uninterrupted hours of work done on the money pit and some quality family time too!
