Re: My Facetruck thread.
Bang-shifting, probably. I had a '65 GTO that twisted off an axle like that. 389 tri-power four speed. Boy, would I like to have not sold that car, amongst some others.

Re: My Facetruck thread.
that broken axle is out of this 60k gvwr line auger truck, allison trans, dana axles..
crew was off the hardpack at a construction site, running around without diff lock and interaxle engaged.. lost traction, spun RF duals up high rpm and hit traction on something suddenly.. see more of this and broken pinions in manual trucks though.. upshot is that replacement axle is only $188 believe it or not..

You have to have a weak link in every design. That one's affordable.

Re: My Facetruck thread.
WE never get that lucky. It's always the whole differential.
Then we have to go down in Boogs part of the country and get a replacement.

Re: My Facetruck thread.
Quote:
My dad had a '62 Land Rover that we were driving down Blue Ridge Parkway with a loaded trailer in tow. Stopped on an uphill, went to pull out, wheels spinning, then one gets on pvement, grabs, and POW!!... snapped axle shaft. Out 4-wheeling at the quarry pits one Friday night. Big crowd there, my first time. I guess we were trespassing because someone hollered "the Cops!" and next thing you knew everybody was in their rigs heading out. The entrance was plugged up with people squeezing out. So I climbed the bank to the road and when my left front hit the pavement "BOOM!!" busted the axle u-joint and mangled the stub shaft yokes.

My only regret is I didn't know "then" what I know now.

Re: My Facetruck thread.
as you all may have been able to tell, I love all of God's creatures, and not just the tasty ones
Mrs. Bee came home with a 3.5gal fish tank last week and a couple of female Bettas, one for each of the kids.. well, it didn't work out quite so well for one of them, the other bullied it and she passed.. burial at sea services followed.. so I suggested a 10gal tank, heater, and stuff and some Mollies or similar.. so she bought one and we have three Mollies and the surviving female Betta.. all thriving and swimming around actively, eating well, loving life! Sonar Sprinkles Radar Turtle gotta love the names kids come up with so I took the 3.5gal to work for my desk and got myself a little male to hang out with me in my office his name is Hank and he's quite a character..

Re: My Facetruck thread.
should mention this, my boy scored his first touchdown tonight at HB HS, first for the team in the first game of the season!
6yo flag, but hey, still BIG news in the Bee household

Re: My Facetruck thread.
That girl put on the seatbelt before adjusting the seat. Seatbelts were bolted to the floor so she can't adjust the seat without binding.
Nice fish B hope it does well.

Re: My Facetruck thread.
My older son and his friend took a bunch of my duct tape, foam sill sealer, and various objects to make armor and battle weapons. I come home to gladiators in foam armor battling to the death. They made some amazing weapons like broad axes, a cat of nine tails type of thing, clubs, etc. It was funny as heck. I guess they got tired of playing video games

Re: My Facetruck thread.
nice job Grandpa! look at that pole bender and the happy face on that jr. angler!
grew up fishing quite a bit so can't remember my first trip.. that and got a few brain cells on the injured reserve list that ain't talking.. doubt I caught much this day though lol, but who knows, lots of good fishin' back home so could have caught a big mess that day.. [check out mom's fury!] Grandpa and Grandma came up from AR and eventually settled in Lowry City near Truman.. remember many trips to the lakes around there in Grandpa's Impala, poles fit in the trunk without bending LOL.. later growing up on the farm, plenty of fish right out the back door taken my kids a couple of times with no luck.. my boy caught his first fish with Grandpa, Mrs. Bee's dad had all girls so I'm cool with that my buddy took us out in his bass cat on Puddingstone couple of years ago, no fish but those kids stuck it out all day.. here they are in my little vee hull in Alamitos bay, gonna get set up for fishing this year I hope..
