Re: post your 67-72 4x4

Just got this little gem, build thread to come at some point
67 4x4 SWB (yeah I know she's got a step side on her now, but i kinda like it that way)

It was originally a park service truck with a six cylinder, speed warning and radio delete. But once taken out of service she sat for quite some time.

Will be a mild build, driver.. Plan is to have her up and running before the weather really changes..
Some stuff already done, but lots to do. I will turn her back into a proper 67 with parts I already have including a set of 67 step side fenders. Since I already have a 2wd 68 SWB in the making, she will most likely remain a stepper.
Will start with a mild 350 and use the current SM 420/T221 and closed knuckle Dana 44 to get things going.

What do you all think?

That 67 K10 stepper is a nice project, kind of like it a stepper and 4x4, of course the standard trans makes it a bit better yet.

WOW! Can you come on down to Florida and paint mine? JK. That is real nice. And that color is growing on me more every time I see it. Kinda wish my truck were older now. Congrats sir. So many never make it to paint...

Re: post your 67-72 4x4

Silvertip67, looks great. I finally dropped mine at the painter. I don't have the shop, tools or skill. I did strip her done to bare metal. She is going back to the 504 and 502 two tone (Lt Olive green and white). Trim is done. I have to finish the tail gate trim and repaint the front grill. It was silver and the PO bainted it black. I found one decent 69 door and a marginal 71 door (passenger side). Mine were dead. I think I will run out of $$$ and I will do the bed liner myself.
71 veronica, looking good send pics when done!
I'll do the same

Finally SOME progress? Looks like a ton of progress! Good job! Oh and a side question... Do you really own all those trucks in your sig? DANG! PM me some pics of that 57. Those are like truck porn to me.

If he does own that many trucks it is no wonder he has no time to work on all of them, man one is hard enough.

Re: post your 67-72 4x4

Theres actually a few more Im hiding as well, my sig would be too long with them all in there. The 57 is in the same state the 70 was for the last 4 years but longer. Its my next project i think, looking for a 454 locally then find a nv4500 and np205 to stuff in it. I have like three tri fives trucks and one 58 apache as well as what I think is a two ton 55-57 GMC, you cant see the frame or rear end but they are massive. And right after I took this pic I grabbed the weed eater and cleaned around the truck so the grass doesnt grow into it. Yes I feel bad for it being outside but Im building a lean too this summer for most of my vehicles.

Re: post your 67-72 4x4

30 so young enough to collect more and finish the rest lol, If I can start finishing them once a year Ill be done by 40 lol. I live in a small town where most spend their time drinking beer and doing nothing, while I dont mind beer, Id rather spend my hard earned cash on my truck/cars/toys. Once a few are restored I can sell one or two to fund others. I hope to build two lean too`s, one will be a 4 car the other maybe 6. But thats all hopes right now lol.

Re: post your 67-72 4x4

Well young enough and with a good plan too, some cool stuff for builds. I only do one at a time, your probably thinking of a few at a time and collecting parts for most, kind of an advantage for you.

did you get it wet?
We were there and were almost drowned while trying to get to our car! Pretty good rain for a while and traffic getting home was bad.

Nice looking truck!
