Re: My 68 swb build.

The column looks great. I might have to get me one.

Have you looked it over to see if a stock NSS can be fit to it?

theres no place for a nss, so im still pondering cutting the column to add one...i think the diameter of the shaft is the same size so it might not be a problem, but just the thought of cutting up a new column disgusts me slightly...the only real reason i want the nss is for reverse lights..

I'm sure you could rig up a micro switch on the trans linkage to trip the reverse lights instead, or even just put a toggle switch in for them.

Re: My 68 swb build.

didnt get but one pic last nite, but its nothing extravagant... managed to get the pressure line for the powersteering done...i found a hose that works, i hope. the return line may be a little high, but im gonna leave it until i get inner fenders.

got my other steering column torn apart and got all the rubber and steel mounts off of it and transferred to the new column. was gonna put it in, but tuckers truck parts sent me the wrong u joint for the gearbox...i will be calling to get the right one...

and lastly i got the ebrake pedal assy somewhat finished...had to cut it 2 inches or so to clear the shaved firewall...welded it up and ground the out side smooth. I hope this works cause this cab is no way a 69 because the mounting point under the drivers vent is not there. the hole is not drilled through and the roll on the bottom of the dash is the same the whole length of the dash...took a pair of vise grips and bent that sucker over so it would fit...all thats left is drill the holes for the mounting studs, hole for the cable, blast, paint and install...

right....lol it took me a few mins to realize im gonna cut it up...lol i think its gonna work...honestly looking at it, i dont think it matters where you put it just make sure that you weld the tab in the correct place.. what ive found is as long as the opening is the correct size and the tab is welded 1/2 inch on the park side...if that makes sense...

Re: My 68 swb build.

i think i got the temp gauge working. i think the problem may be with the headlight switch. the gauge works when heat is applied to the sensor, and falls back to cold when taken off. ill buy a new switch and see what happens...

Yeah man. I usually look to see what's going on too, just don't always have/know what to say. You're making good progress man. Can't believe you cut into that column! I'm sure you'll get it working good though.
