Thanks buddy! I can't wait to watch what you're able to do on your '72. Make sure to take the time to take pictures as you're going through because before you know it, it will be back on the road.

Thanks SCOTI, I appreciate that but have to extend that back to you. Our little guy is growing up faster than I ever realized possible. Hope that life is treating you well down south. Hope to run into you again sometime.

Thanks Geary! Doubt I'll make Springfield this year but hopefully next year I'll be out and about a little more than 2012.

Re: Project: Blank Slate

I am a newby here and stumbled onto this thread while searching out ideas for my '72 project, I have spent the biggest part of the last couple of days reading this thread (and wiping the drool).

All I can say is WOW, beautiful truck, and awesome build, thank you

Actually I just finished a quick rebuild on my carburetor and finally had time to reinstall it in the truck. After the rebuild it runs so much better. I need to set the timing and it should be ready to roll in the spring.

Well thank you for your comments. This truck and build offered a lot of memories for my family and friends. Looking forward to the next one.

Nate,
I was just showing my girlfriend pictures on my favorite trucks on the board. I noticed the picture of your wife and son and the picture of you and your son. Awesome! Hope to see you at a show soon.

Re: Project: Blank Slate

Hey Nate, I just skimmed the entire thread again (read the important parts) to get some inspiration for cleaning up the suspension on my '71. I need to see your truck in person some time! I hope I can make it to the MW Nats this year. You should grab up Keith and come down to Springfield for one of the shows. There are a few good ones this summer and fall.

Truck is still looking killer!

Thanks buddy!

I've been wanting to make it down that way some time, so maybe 2013 will be the year. Keep me posted on any good shows that are coming up.

Plans are to attend the All Truck Nat's this year since GG's was cancelled this year. Hopefully the weather and the river will cooperate for the truck show.

Re: Project: Blank Slate

I just finished going through this whole thread and I have to say that is one nice looking truck!

I was also impressed with all the info about the build in here.

Very detailed about the suspension and wheels/tires, that saved me a lot of questions...... I think

Well I you have any that pop up just give me a shout.

It was a fun build. I hope to be able to start working on it again next year. Had another project pop up over the last year that has taken all our extra time and money.

I doubt that will ever happen.

His rear wheels were ordered for a static drop.
New wheels or bed mods would be needed if the truck was bagged.
Plus I don't think Nate wants to bag this truck.

Thanks. If you refer to the 1969 color chart is it labeled as Light Green.

Great thread! Just discovered it while researching the rebuild of the front end of my '69 GM longbox. I have run into some glitches with my 6-lug spindle/hub/lowering project and found your information very useful.
