Drove "old country" about 100 miles today. Went to a small cruise in that a church sponsored with some friends. Got a few pics but I can't figure out how to post them from my phone.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
Looks good TJ. I got the shocks off mine and wd40,d rear coil spring ,trailing arm and track bar bolts. Got the driveshaft out, clutch line loose, oil pressure line off. Two bolts and trans linkages all that's left to get the engine out. That and a hoist.lol

Those are very nice wheels indeed, and a good price too. Be careful about the offset/backspacing. My guess is they are 10" wide wheels. I have found for a 15" wheel, that 3.75" of backspacing is good and 4" might rub the outer tie rod. It is very close. Also be careful that your lugs are long enough. You should get at least 1/2" of lug threads into the lug nut. Congratulations on getting a nice cab too. TJ, I'm looking at your brake booster in the photo. It looks bent. Maybe twisted? What's up with the brake booster? It looks damaged.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
Not sure....I never paid much attention. lol Been that way since I got the truck is all I know. I'll get a better picture for ya so you can tell me if something is bent. lol Works OK and is tight and not going anywhere so I never touched it. Will be replaced as the booster seems to be shot...barely touch the pedal and you fly through the windshield. haha

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
I only kept a few holes. Since I used a different gas pedal I used the old linkage hole to feed my wires to the engine.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
NOT all today but getting more done on 63 GMC V6 to 350 swap and a few updates like headlight relays, daytime running headlights (low beam on with key and switches to park lights when light switch is pulled on) (relays are so nice) built my own engine wiring harness, found a nice flex line for the HYD.clutch, installed horn relay, horns from a 80 Oldsmobile (behind headlights/grill)

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
I'm such a freekin cheapskate that I dismantled 2 fuel tank senders and made 1 that worked!
They were both in a junk pile, but one had a broken fitting, and the other had a rusty resistor assembly. 10 minutes later---Tah-Dah!! |
