I was just doing that this afternoon. Removed those tabs you noticed in my bed and ground off the exhaust hanger rivet. Still need to take a couple pieces off the frame. Are you using flap disc's? Scott and I were talking about them a couple days ago.

I've used the torch and heat up the sleeve good and hot. Then the rubber will come out easy, just push it out by hand. BUT this way makes a big stinky mess......burning and melting rubber.

Yes, I love the flap discs, I was using an 80 grit one. I did use a regular grinding disc on a hard to get to weld on the inside of the frame. I have found if you grind with an 80 grit then go back with a 120 or even a worn disc, you can polish and smooth the metal of all the grind marks.... Quote:
