I wouldn't want to ride a taxi in NYC!

Yep, the Mack was restored just a couple yeas ago, '15 I think. How about a moving picture about it

Compare the red truck to the black one. Cab on red truck is offset to the right and the black one to the left. Pretty sure they are DM models.

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

Imagine checking the Tire Pressure on each one before the day started?

Of course we would just hit them with a bar.

Imagine that...36 wheeler! It would create a tire shortage if it got all new rubber at once. Probably take two days to air them all up

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

That's a big/heavy one. Probably got a Mack V8. Look how wide the hood is. Somebody put quad square headlights in, that throws it off.

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

I'm sure it's a Mack. It's either Australian or someone put the quad square lights in. It's this body, but no set-back axle:

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

I think your right. The number of axles would indicate Australia too.

One of the early diesel powered Mack's.

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

Man that is sweet! I saw an old AC with a diesel. There weren't many. Probably near the end which was about the same year as that truck. I believe the last AC was '39.

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

I just came across this picture in my Photobucket. It's my buddy's you all have probably seen me show, the painted up '58 Reo. It's a factory sleeper cab now but it wasn't always. He came across a sleeper cab '58 in rough shape and it went from there. In the end it's two cabs combined. I captured both trucks this day.

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

You got that right. The floor and lower windshield/cowl was shot on the sleeper cab, so he grafted the two. Thn he stretched the frame. Since that he has installed Peterbilt rear air suspension. also, that floor he repaired got two big square holes cut out and boxes welded beneath to allow for the new take out air ride Bostrom Peterbilt seats. It keeps getting better. It has something like 3:42 gears now and with that little Cat it gets 12.5 mpg.
Always more to do, though. Such as wipers have never worked since we've been riding together and water leaks in a lot of places . This is us rolling in to '09 Macungie show. Man that was a wet one. Rained the whole time. My feet were like prunes

Love those old Chain Drives.

I can remember some still on the road and working in my younger years.

Me too. At the truck shows I've seen trucks I was surprised still had chain drive.

This bigass Mack was at the ATHS National Show in York. It's a '43
