ATTN: Everyone!
I really need anyone and everyones help with body alignment and shimming. I have the same truck as David and we are so close to painting but cant get that dam body lined up. Please any opinions would help. We took the truck apart so fast that we don't remember were any of the shims go and if someone could point us in the right direction that would be great. Body lines are killing us and David, your trucks body lines are perfect in the pics and i really need help. Thank you to everyone on this page! By the way david, your truck is sweet! |

Re: Project: 1967 C10 Small Window
Yes, David and his brother Josh did an awesome job on it. Has won some local shows now that its nearly done. I had to jump in a do a repair on the brake switch...NOT FUN...but somewhat relaxing/rewarding none-the-less! (http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=646192) Word to the wise--if you are rebuilding one and the brake switch appears to be OK as ours did, REPLACE IT ANYWAY when you get the steering column apart. It is a massive pain to replace the $7 part once it is all put back together. Tape and creative use of 1/4 drive w/ ujoing w/ extension on rachet helps.

I applaud you young man! It's so good to see a young person have focus and take pride in something worthwhile and positive. God bless you! I know your parents are proud!

Re: Project: 1967 C10 Small Window
Frame is bent, cab and bed are okay other than some body work. The bracing which connects the inner fenders to the cab broke away from the cab, and probably saved it.
I'm deciding the fix the truck, and I have a replacement frame well under way. Stay tuned... Some changes are being made. |

Re: Project: 1967 C10 Small Window
Saw this on IG, sucks to see such a beautiful truck messed up like that! Can't wait to see what you plan to do with the rebuild.

Re: Project: 1967 C10 Small Window
Thanks all for the concern.
Only myself involved and I walked out. My leg smacked the gauge bezel and it seems my elbow dented the door... but there was no pain or bruising. It happened maybe 5 months ago but I haven't had the heart to post it on here. |

Re: Project: 1967 C10 Small Window
In September, I got this '69 SWB frame from 62LS1 (who I originally bought the truck from). It was in good shape other than the rear shock member which was pretty mangled.
