I'm 60 now (incredibly), my dad passed in 1990 at only age 66 after 20 years of heart attacks and strokes. He'd be 92 now if he were around. He might not have been able to help but he'd have definitely gotten a lot of joy out of watching me have a nice one like yours. His was a small window '59 Fleetside long bed I "helped" him install a 283 in to replace the 235 six, and later replaced that with a 348. It was a truly fast truck in its time and I've always wanted a TF since then. If I ever stumble upon a 348/409 at a somewhat reasonable price I'm definitely buying it for my truck.

Thanks!!! Id love to see some pics!

Re: My 1959 apache project

truck looks fantastic !!!! great that you have your dad around to work with you --- i also lost my dad in 2000 - although he was not that mechanically inclined ; he was always there to ''help'' until he got bored ..... i just liked the fact that he was around and took a small bit of interest
can you tell me about that outside spotlight --- what is it off of --- or where did you get it ? just curious -
again ....great job on a damn good lookin truck !!!

Well, the truck is looking beautiful but it pales in comparison to your beautiful baby girl. She's a cutie pie!

EXACTLY as it oughta be! My daughter is soon to be 31 and though she gave me gray hairs as a teenager - she laughs at that now and apologizes for what a pain she was back then.

If your daughter knows the Sun rises and sets on her as far as you're concerned she's likely to be more careful about disappointing you and she's more likely to ultimately pick a man that will treat her well like her dad taught her to expect from a man.

Enjoy her, they grow up FAST. Mine gave me a granddaughter this summer and though I can't imagine loving either one of them more, every day I do!

Calling in sick to work I call it, "I've got a case of anal glaucoma" That translates into, "I can't see my ass going to work today."

Re: My 1959 apache project

Man I LOVE the 55-56 car dashes in our trucks. It's never made sense to me that they weren't always in the trucks since in those days trucks were usually work vehicles and the center glovebox would have been more convenient/safer.

I also love that you used the '55 stainless instead of the '56. GREAT job. Just out of curiosity, where'd you find your dash. I've looked but never found one used.

Yes I had the crazy idea of doing it but was actually going to add another speedo cut out and one day I said to myself why not do a 55-56 dash insert piece so I found a dash assembly on the tri-five facebook thread bought it and just cut out the pass side and glove box integrated into the existing dash. The pass side is a built in color bar (70s thing) ill post a video once I assemble it

I also love that you used the '55 stainless instead of the '56. GREAT job. Just out of curiosity, where'd you find your dash. I've looked but never found one used.

Re: My 1959 apache project

Truck is eye candy. Would enjoy just sitting in a chair and staring at it for an hour or so. Your daughter is so cute! Been years since ours were that little. About our grandsons age.

Firewall pad on the inside or outside? Thinking inside. If you have sound deadener already applied, do you need one inside? I used a black trim cloth glued to the sound deadener on the last build. Made the silver disappear.
