I love the old mustard yellow trucks. My uncle had one when I was a kid. When i think back and picture a 67-72 chevy or GMC, I picture it being that industrial yellow color. Beautiful!

Re: Post pics of your Longbed Trucks!! No short stuffs allowed!!

Hey, new here from SW MO. Loving this thread.

Here's my 71 long bed. It's actually a GMC but someone put a Chevy front clip on it. I'll go back original when I find the right doghouse. I've spent the last year searching for a whining sound by removing the carrier bearing and going to a one-piece driveshaft, u-joints, rebuilt brakes front & rear, wheel bearings, wheel seals, complete rear-end rebuild (to 3.42 posi 10-bolt), poly bushings everywhere, aluminum radiator with twin fans, 2005ish split bucket seats, lowered suspension and back to rally wheels. Whining banshee noise turned out to be the grille so back to stock. Oh well, built a solid truck in the meantime.

Next is a 355ci/700r4 combo, could use a good bed and the usual driving the tires off.

Always looking for parts.

Holler!

It's hard to nail the right stance and wheel/tire combo on a longbed and make it look awesome like the short beds can.

This sounds like it could be time to slam it to the earth with some airbags.

Thanks guys. That was my 72 before I sold it to fund my 68 swb, I know but the wife said "One at a time honey". That has ECE drop front spindles and 2" CPP drop springs in front. In the rear I used 4" drop monoleaf springs (leaf spring truck) and 2" drop shackles in the rear. It still wasn't quite low enough so I raised the front spring hangers to achieve the right stance. Check my public profile and in the 72 pictures you'll see what I did.
