Got all the body work done on the cab and doors, only to find out that I didn't have enough primer! Oh well tomorrow is another day.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Got the splash guard, front bumper, and headlight trim put on. Buttoned up rest of the fenders. Put the rear tires on and drove her out of the garage for a pic. Then I began sanding down the new (used) hood. I have two more 67/68 hoods and if the one I am working on turns out ok I will give away the other two. I tried to sell em on craigslist in Colorado Springs and Pueblo but no takers. I don't want to send these to the scapper if anyone can use em.

My daughter helped me almost all day.

She loves this old truck even more than her mothers 66 mustang.

The engine compartment is dirty but looking good I think....

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Noticed a large puddle of oil under the rear of the engine, guess the oil pan leak is getting pretty bad. Sounds like a good project for next summer cuz I really don't wanna tackle another major project this year.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Built my truck ten years ago. Paint is starting to fade and dont want to buff out no more. Lower bottom of the tailgates starting to bubble and needs repaired. As an expierment, I tried some clear coat spray paint on the tailgate to see if the shine would come back. Figured the tail gate has to be redone anyway and it couldnt hurt! It worked, the clear brought back the shine and it looks good again. (Minus the bubbles) I'm going to do my hood next. (it will be painted properly again at some point)

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Had a new windshield installed in my 69. It is tented, and has darker tint on the top. My old one might have been the original one. I can see clearly now. I will have to spray it with water , and make sure it doesn't leak.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Picked up some '96 Honda Accord LX bucket seats for $25. The guy only removed them to put in racing seats (big time tuner car lol) and they're like new. Mod the mounts and get them in. Then I have no more excuses except time, for getting that T10 in the '71.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Installed a new dash pad, new dash cluster with tach & gas fill rubber seal. Waiting for headliner chrome trim & lower door carpet to finish my interior then on to rebuild the front suspension. Oh, got a 200 4r trans from a board member to install for some road trips.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

went junkyarding with my 9 year old son. Got a fold down license plate cover for my rear tank conversion, fixed the light on the defroster switch, got two new headlit/wiper bezels dfrom the scrap yard for 0.00. The guy just gave em to me. Found the rod and springs to fix my bench seat, installed them and Presto.... Seat works as it did in 67'. Painted another coat on the hood. and a bit more but I gotta go eat or my wife will beat me.

Later......

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

67 six bolt rear with 3.73's removed & a 71 five bolt rear in with 3.07's in! Took all day as the u-bolts had become one with the rear control arms. Drums, backing plates & diff cover powder coated semigloss black, the rest painted. New stainless rear brakelines w/ gravelguard toped it all off to look sweet. Wow does the rest of my truck look crappy now...

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Windshield and rear slider came out. Mocked up the headers. A bunch of pictures here:

Only one small cut on my palm! And not from the utility knife. From a cab pointy part.
