I bought some custom motor mounts from Speedway but they end up leaving an 1/8" for my steering linkage. So we decided to build them to work with the factory 01' mounts. They only sell kits to do the opposite of what I'm doing, nobody puts an old motor in a newer frame...so here's the template

Bolt holes to bolt up to the 400, threaded holes to bolt to the existing mount.

In this last pic, am I seeing some kind of heat shield or is it just a cover up for the mounts?

You are correct, there is a heat shield on the factory 2001 motor mounts.

I assume the trans crossmember will be removable. It looks right at home with the other metal work. Again, awesome work!!!

Yes sir... It will definitely bolt in. Hopefully I can finish it up tomorrow and get some pics of it all bolted in.
