Re: intro + 66 black bagged long fleet
They looked great for a couple months but they turned kinda tanish color. They say u cant paint new tires without them turning brown because of the oil. I tried cleaning them with bleach. Degreaser and thrn soapy water but i guess it didnt help. Im gonna try to paint over them again and see how it does

Re: intro + 66 black bagged long fleet
truck is looking cool. i love it when you get to this stage. everything you do makes a big difference and calls for a beer and a gaze.
did you try using a sealer on the tires first? |

Re: intro + 66 black bagged long fleet
thanx guys!!! ya clem im getting pretty excited.. im soo close now
as far as the tires goes i didnt use any sealer but i prolly should have. im gonna redo them after i get it running. been knocking some stuff out. finishing up some stuff i should have had done along time ago. i got my new windshield finally finally made the top to my battery box got a tag frame with 3rd brake light and tag light. also a really sweet tag for when i show my truck installed new tailight lenses and buckets. all the lights on the rear and now wired up to. new polished stainless strips for the bed floor.. gonna start on that in a few weeks.. still gotta get some wood still pretty pumped that i got a windshield finally finally got around to finishing up my signal/marker lights. i moved it from the spot i had originally planed on putting it.. btw the wire on the left is for the headlights and fan. the wires on the right are the signal lights here is a pic of me hoping that i know what im doing.. hahaha got everything under the dash wired up except the column. made a stainless box to put the ignition and headlight switches in..its not done yet.. im gonna paint it black then once i finally get around to doing my dash polished dash extension piece the box wont be noticeable. also it looks like it would get it on the way but i got plenty of knee room still all i have to do to take it for a test drive is make all my ground cables. run the battery cables and a few small wires to the starter. then bleed my brake system. then i think ill be ready to roll

Re: intro + 66 black bagged long fleet
How is you horn ring in such great shape? Repo or rechromed? The horn button looks different than my 66 horn button but my horn ring is the same. I would love some details. Thanks

Re: intro + 66 black bagged long fleet
Dang you beat me to it...I want to put a quick connect on my firewall to hood wires so if/when I have to take the hood off, they wont hang me up.
They look sweet too with that braided wire loom you are using !!
