Re: My 93 CCSSB

So....
How's it going?

The more I see your CCSSB (crew cab super short bed), the more I like it!! It seems to have perfect proportions.

Guess what? I sold my square body CCLB and I'm picking up a 98 CCLB 1 ton with a 6.5TD. I think I'm going to swap it over to a short bed.

Re: My 93 CCSSB

Hey Scott's, I know that you redid the headliner in your crew. Do you recall if the roof structure had the provision for a overhead console? I want to put one in my 99' crew.
Thanks

Re: My 93 CCSSB

have read your thread 3 times over the last few years because I want to put on a short bed. liked the idea of moving the perches and have a few questions.

what was the ride like? I planned to use the 1 ton springs with normal ride height. was it rough or just didn't feel right?

It rode fine the whole 200 ish miles that i drove it. I ended up putting the crew cab on my X cab frame and shortening the bed like a newer 5.5 style trucks. I put overload bags on it and it rides great. Im in the middle of doing a 6.0 4l80 conversion in it now..

I scrapped the old grafted frame idea because it was going to be my tow pig and i had the perfect setup with the other truck.

Re: My 93 CCSSB

All good on my end. Just popped on looking at some stuff and decided to check out how you were coming on yours. Picked up a '53 thinking about putting a 6.0/4l80 in it, have a 454/th400 sitting in it right now but not driveable yet. Still have the ole '64 too(sitting just like it was the last time I updated the thread...). Anyway, gotta start getting back on here again for motivation, been too long without playing with this stuff.

With everything you have going on I don't know when you have time to work on your stuff. Keep working at it though, you'll have it together before long. Gotta have a tow rig, right?

BTW, wanna repin a harness for me?

Wow its been a while since i have been online.... Well you have had a year so how did it turn out???

I got my crew about done as it will get, going to work it through building a house and shop then i will paint it. Put a 6.0 4l80 in it with headers and true duals with x pipe and tuned. It runs great. I will get some pics and post for ya

Not sure i would use half ton suspension and keep it a dually but that's me. Mine is a heavy half 6lug frame.

So i picked him up at lunch and we went to check it out, she has some problems but if we were worked like this ol work truck has been we would too it has a 454 tbi and auto trans, and with a little negotiating we drove it home for $400.
I will post more pics in the daylight tomorrow.

she needs a lot of tlc cleaning, but will be worth it in end, i like people who try to keep the trucks stock as much as possible.

What a story. Ended up being a cool rig. Hopefully you can finish it to your satisfaction. Nice work on all of the rigs you painted.
