She looks great, but you need to replace the air freshener with some red fuzzy dice

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"

Well it's been tough trying to track down the perfect 327.... And I know that when your not looking for something then that's when you'll find it. So with that being said I have decided to take the perfectly good and strong running 350 I have and take it apart freshen it up a bit and then give it a orange overhaul and put that in the truck instead. I've also found a guy with a 3:73 posi rear axle that I might be able to trade my carrier for his! So a possible posi coming up and the 350 will go in before the end of this year if I have my way.

That would be a good deal on the posi. That's what I did with the 350 that I got, took it apart and detailed it.

Just like when you lose something quit looking and you'll find it by accident, congrats on the find

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"

Alright got a question for you guys... This 327 has the fuelie heads.... And that's a BIG problem for me since I'm using 69-72 alt. brackets which mount to the front of the head... It is to my understanding that the fuelie heads or camel hump heads don't have threaded holes in the heads front an back correct? Could I take the heads to a shops and have them drill out the 2 holes I need am thread them? Or am I gonna have to find the 67-68 driver side exhaust manifold and lower alt. bracket since I already have the upper one?

I have heard of people drilling em but have never seen it. My thought on this is there isn't the cast boss to drill so not sure if it is thick enough to have strength. In the Summit catalog they sell a lower bracket for headers and I've seen these used with exhaust manifolds.

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"

Check first. My heads are the later style fuelie heads and have the accessory holes. Early ones do not. I also have a large journal 327 out of a 68 Chevy truck that will one day go in my truck. I may start building it later this year.

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"

well this one is a large journal 327 and its from a 67... so its a pretty early fuelie heads. in the pictures the it shows the rear of the engine and the back of the heads dont have any holes in them, so that means the front doesnt either? and yeah those were my thoughts.. i was thinking that they have a different routing for everything and there might not be room in the cast for a threaded hole. but supposably these are the hot heads right?

They were in my day and in my opinion still are but alot of people like the vortec or the new aluminum heads. but there is a way to do the lower alt without drilling holes. I'll look in my stash and see if I have a set up leftover from years ago, I'll let ya know

No problem, not sure I have one anymore but I'll look. The best heads back then are real rare, yours are the fuelly 1.94 intake. They also had 2.02 intake and angle plugs these are hard to find. I always ran the 1.94 and always had good luck with em.

They're the heads that the vettes came with, they are the hi perf factory head. I ran 12.30's with my 66 Chevelle, 327 w/fuelly's like those. But that was back when we could run 12.5 to 1 compression on street gas. But yeah they're nice heads. What year is that motor?

They are good heads for the era but there is no comparison to a set of stock Vortec heads. Personally I love the look of the old "humps", it used to mean "watch out, I'm pumped up"

Shawn, the heads you have there were from 68 or 9 into the mid 70s.
