Re: Project 78 High Sierra
they both look sweet hope you can pick up one of them, but if it was me I'd go after that white one the interior seemed better taken care of if I do recall correctly.

Re: Project 78 High Sierra
Yeah I see what you mean, either way you go you have to find out more info on it. What's your plans for the Mustang just to restore it like the truck? Or make it to its classic state re-live its glory days?

Re: Project 78 High Sierra
Always wanted one...Initially to drive around here and there on the weekends and restore after i finish the truck up. Ive been trying to buy one forever so yeah I like them both but more info and im leaning more to v6 for mileage. Ive got two v8s and a v6 would be nice especially with how well they sound. As well as they probably haven't been dogged as bad...I like the fact that the 65 is mostly complete parts wise...Makes it easier to fix...plus its not as far away...So its probably my first choice as long as its got a clean title to it but we will see...

Re: Project 78 High Sierra
I understand ya there man my v8 makes me grateful for my v6 lol
I hope you can get the 65 it looks clean, but like you said man gotta check them out look at them, and never hurts to take an extra set of eyes to help. If it was me buying it I'm partial to that 65 its more complete in my opinion little work to be done to it just give it a little tlc.

Re: Project 78 High Sierra
Yeah, thats why im gonna try to bring an expert with me if feasible...RusBuilt has restored one and just knows his stuff...Might even be able to slap some sense into me if need be lol... But we will see...Sometimes I get my eye on the prize and cant get my foot off the gas but i also know not to just jump on something based on appearances

Re: Project 78 High Sierra
Definitely man, it just so happened I had a gut feeling about mine that it would be a good deal and it was yeah it has some surface rust, rusted bed, and rusted core support, but hey its a sound truck and nothing that can't be fixed with a little bit of time and money.
Sounds awesome yeah I see RusBuilt always putting stuff on here, seems like a very know how guy. I wish you the best of luck my friend I hope your able to get the car you want!

Re: Project 78 High Sierra
So that I understand this right your making an adapter so that if your current gauge cluster was to go bad, you could just go buy a new one and all you have to do is just plug everything in and tada!! Am I understanding that correctly?

Re: Project 78 High Sierra
Yeah, I'm too lazy to that I like my stuff simple as possible lol it looks sweet one definitely makes your truck 1 of a kind and that's what it's all about how can you make it different from someone else.
If you don't mind me asking how'd you set up the LED lights because I hate my backlight cluster lights there to dim for my taste I want to have it bright?

Re: Project 78 High Sierra
Well I bought 5050 SMD flexible light strips. They are very bright and self adhering but i added some hot glue to hold it in some places. The inside of my cluster is painted white for extra reflective qualities so i just put those in there and put the wires from each in a lamp base socket by soldering LED leads on each end to bend out of the socket and that fits in the standard bulb setup.
