Thank you Sid. Really appreciare the pictures! It does look like my engine is sitting lower and that may well put the right side manifold right on the top of the rail. It is hard to tell without trying them.

Our Christmas Miracle!
Our Christmas Miracle
Last November in 2014 my wife was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. We went from living Jimmy Stewarts "It's a Wonderful Life" to "Nightmare on Elm Street" with Freddy Kruger. So any real progress on this build pretty well stopped. We wanted the best hospital we could get and we were sent to St. Louis. They sent her back for 3 months of chemo then determined they couldn't perform surgery. Back home for radiation therapy and St. Louis hospital advised they still couldn't perform surgery and you have about a year left to live. We went to Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland Ohio for another opinion. They have patients from around the world come for treatment due to their outstanding ability to do what others can't. They decided they could operate so we spent the month of July there with surgery and recovery. The next step was back home for three more months of chemo then a follow-up scan back in Cleveland this week. The surgeon declared the scan is clear and my wife is cancer free! She will continue to be monitored and we pray it doesn't return. God has answered our prayers and we give Him the glory for our Christmas miracle. Guys, I hesitated to share this and frankly I want to forget the nightmare. And at the same time I want to praise God for giving us the strength, resources and help to get through this. We are ever grateful. Merry Christmas! Hope to be in the shop tomorrow with her again. |

Guys, thank you so much for the kind words! We've been married 32 years and she has helped with every car project I've had since 1978 when we started dating....even the little projects like getting the trunk open here where I wouldn't fit anymore. She is a blessing.

Great news. We really take so much for granted in this world. Even the company of a women for so long, to having running water. Its nice to spread the opportunities to others that have had so little. You two are destined to put more cars on the road!!!!!

Hello AD & Cindy. Very good news indeed. Also a "shout out" to those second opinion doctors and staff who made this possible.

Re: 48 Burb, bagged, 5.3, 20 year wait
Earl...You are so right about the shout out to the second opinions medical professionals. Cleveland Clinic is amazing drawing some of the best medical professionals from around the world. If anyone ever is given news they can't accept, go for the second opinion. Never give up, never surrender!
Rick.... God does answer prayers and we kept knocking on the door like it says in scripture. Every church of everyone we know has her on their prayer list. TODAY WAS THE BEST DAY IN THE SHOP IN OVER A YEAR!!!! Because she was able to be there with me. Small progress as a lot of time was spent finding things I had stored away. Since I replaced the floor, I still have to figure out where the inners bolt to, mark and drill. I'll get back on the tanks and pumps installation after getting the front end and accessories figured out. And I still have a few flat nuts to weld in for rear fender mounting before...and.....and...I am so thankful and excited! |
