Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Straightening the bottom of the door with out loosing the old paint. Want it to still look old, just not so beat up. That's not rust bubbles at the bottom, there is only surface rust on the inside. It's just a cheap old repaint coming off

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

I used my tailgate as a workbench to polish the scooter. Oh...and pulled an "extra" electrical wire off of the carburetor and put some empty beer cans in the bed.

More planned for tonight.

I saw this truck in the building the other day. Looks pretty good when I'm driving by to park.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

started stripping down one of my trucks for parts. It is a 3/4 ton and I am just going to swapall the parts and put them on a 66 short frame.. I finally took the spare out and it is a 15" 8 lug wheel. The tire is a 7.50-15. It seems to be a split rim with the split.. First one i have even seen and I was a tire Tech back in the early 80's. Maybe I did see one but don't remember.

Couldn't tell from pic, but a heads-up: please study up on dangers involved when working with these...they can literally be deathly.

Thanks and yes I know.. I was a tire tech back in the early 80's and acually worked on split rims a bit. This tire will probably be taken apart and the rim scrapped. To dangerous to be used on any trucks.

Is that a Ford wheel? Looks like it may be. I have a set of '66 Ford two piece wheels like that but they are 5 hole!! Very odd.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

I would say new bumper, but maybe paint it white. Depending on what look you are going for and if the front bumper is chrome.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

poured the oil into my new 327 - went to crawl under the old girl an hour later and there's a sizable puddle under the truck... reached down and felt around the drain plug - thinking ****e man - so disgusted I walked back into the house and told myself I have a mess to clean up tomorrow... figured it just wasn't going to be my day.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Fun reading through here ans seeing daily progress on randomness so I'll play along.

Today/this week I painted my new wheels a color I like to call "Cherry Coke" and got them ready for mock up. I also cut out all the old floor bed metal (had previouslly put it in to cover the airbag set up) to get ready for my wood bed to go back in. Which I also stained and cleared. Lastly I sprayed the dash in it's first coats of metal flake to "motivate" me forward on the interior design. I'll start up a build/progress thread soon here.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

While not actually something on the truck... more something for the truck to go on... Installed a two post lift while temperature wasn't in the single digits. Tomorrow I need to pickup some hydraulic oil and finish up the wiring before putting the 65 C20 on it.

Charlie.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Not sure if its a OEM bumper. It is a used one . Has a few nicks and scrapes. Truck is a driver. Ordered brackets from Classic and they fit well. Now I have to get the correct tag holder, filler panels and right bumper bolts.

Took my trailing arms off to cleanup and discovered a rust through spot. Looks like I'm now in the market for a replacement set.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Spent today and Saturday installing an aftermarket column shift linkage, replacing the shift shaft seal in the transmission and changing the plugs & wires. It took forever to get the indicator to center in the P R N D 1 2 letters on the column and the shift shaft seal still leaks. Guess I need to pull the trans pan and remove the shift shaft & see if it has any burs or nicks on it. CPP now has their linkage on sale for $39.00. The one I bought just used all thread and I didn't like the way it looked so I slid a piece of 3/8" stainless tubing over the all thread to make it look a little better.
