Re: Shawno72's long overdue 68 daily driver build thread
I would remove the hats and mount it to the frame so you could increase the amount of air in the bag. Thats gonna help your ride quality!

Look at the up side (really down), you can go lower without the hats!! Well if you cut a hole for your rear end anyway!

Re: Shawno72's long overdue 68 daily driver build thread
Try 40psi to 50 psi right now,... to check the ride.
Get that dialed in while checking the ride height. That will tell you if removing the hats, will make them work for you. (how tall are the hats?)

I thought of that too. It'll just look like I'm stuck in the 70s with my rear way up in the air

Re: Shawno72's long overdue 68 daily driver build thread
Will a holesaw do the job cutting a hole into the frame for the air fitting?

Make a good template of the top of the bag. I put the two bag mount holes in line (parallel) with the frame. That gives you the option to put the air fitting towards the inside of the frame or the outside. It's a tight fit getting your hand up in there. I also used studs in the upper air bag bolt holes. Since you are working by "feel",... then all you have to do is install a couple washers and nuts.

Re: Shawno72's long overdue 68 daily driver build thread
Haven't tried it yet. Don't want to run around like a stink bug In town its fine but when I get to highway speeds and the road is rough then it gets bouncy. I am gonna plan on removing the hats but for now I just want to drive it for a bit.

Re: Shawno72's long overdue 68 daily driver build thread
Possibly. Just not happy with the bags. The springs rode 10 times better and I'm tired of chasing leaks. If I had a compressor and tank the very slow leak that I have would not matter. The springs were a no brainer and for me and a daily driver the last thing I want to worry about is my suspension.

Man... when I started catching up this morning I read this and got excited, I pictured a hat with a pic of Shawns truck on it. Now I'm diappointed and feel stupid..
