^ I'm not sure if it's lifted or not...it could be stock, and just look really high in the back because of the big tires. Got any other pics, with it sitting on level ground?

Anyway, shackles are definitely the way to go. That's how my truck is leveled out.

It definitely appears lifted. The tires appear a little over size, but they all appear to match.

I dont think it is lifted at all. I will try and get some better pics soon but we currently have a bunch of white **** everywhere! Can yall give me a ballpark on price for the belltech shackles?

If its 4x4 it looks like someone lowered the torsion bars in the front

^ 5 lug wheels mean that it's a 2wd.

In your pics, it looks like maybe the driver's side suspension is compressed just a little in the back? Like maybe that spot in the yard is higher on that side. I think that might be part of the reason it looks so high on the passenger side rear.

nah, looks pretty stock to me, i had an 89 scottsdale and it had the same rake as that truck... i lveled mine out with a set of belltech drop shackles

Here is my 1994 GMC Sierra Extended cab Shortbox SLE 4X4 6 lug 2500 with TBI 350, 4L60E, 14 bolt rearend. The third picture is what it looked like when I first bought it. And the other three are fairly recent ones. I bought it with 80,xxx actual miles on, which i thought was relativly low milage for a 94'. Its my daily driver. It has every option avalible except for the leather seats. It has the factory towing package, skid plates, premuim interior, casette w/equilizer etc. Somewheres along the line somebody put a work truck grille in it, which im not a fan of. lol But Heres what ive done so far with this truck:

that looks stock in the rear! i had a 90 sport was that high too!! i did a 2/4 drop on mine. i used the drop shackles and front hangers. i would try that on yours. if you just got shackle i dont think you will get it as low as you want it.

Happy to finally able to post on this site - I've lurked for over 2 years with dreams of posting in the '47 - '59 section (which i still do hope to some day).

After 12 years, my dad decided to upgrade (2009 GMC Sierra Crew 4x4), so he sold me his 1997 GMC Sierra K1500 (bought new in Nov, 1997). He's taken really good care of it and it only has around 100K miles. I have great memories of traveling to many baseball tournaments in this truck during my high school years, and I hope to drive my son (20 months old) to baseball games in it too.

This picture was made on the day I picked it up from his house about 4 months ago.

Sweet looking truck and as far as I'm concerned the most desireable body style ( short box ,reg cab 4x4) of all the trucks from the 88/98/99 era. What really makes it special is that it was your Dad's which he bought new and you have memories of the truck as you were growing up. Considering the history of the truck and the condition it is in now this truck should stay in your family forever.

Hahaha I have some memories of my dad and an '88 pick up. Funny story! In November of 87 I had just started a new job and was making a staggering $5.98 per hr and I thought I'M RICH I'M RICH! So I go truck shopping. I pick out a white silverado with red from the side molding down and chrome sport wheels. I work the deal with the salesman and he tells me to take it for a spin alone while he draws up the papers. My old man worked near by so I drove it by the shop to show the old man that I was growing up and buying my first truck on my own. He looked it over and grunted his approval despite the fact it was a chevy ( Dad is a die hard Ford guy). Then he asked "What kinda deal didya get?". I told him the price, the terms and the payments. He immediately says "you can afford it take it back". I was trying to explain to him that I COULD indeed afford it when he said again "You can afford it, take it back!" a little more emphatically this time. He explained to me that I could not afford the truck, insurance, maintenance, and all of life's other expenses at the same time. I was PISSED! He was right and that pissed me off even more. Well a couple of weeks ago I FINALLY got my '88! Different color but that's okay I like blue better now anyway but it has those same chrome sport wheels. I told him that story when I went by their house last week and he chuckled and still grunted minimal approval because it isn't a Ford!

That's a pretty clean truck, Pooh. Very nice score, and nice that it's been kept in the family. Although mine hasn't been in the family all it's life, my brother owned it for about 3 years before I bought it, and I've had it roughly 4 years now. Sometimes the satisfaction isn't just out of a vehicle being in the family since new, but just having a vehicle that was in the family. I still wish a few years ago I would have bought a beat up old yellow I6 4 speed 4wd 76 GMC longbox that my dad owned for several years, from before I was born, until I was maybe 8 or 10. I have a few old memories in that truck, and I kick myself for not buying it when I saw it for sale again.

ApeKing, that's not a bad looking truck for an 88. I was always raised a Ford kid, and was to the day I bought my first Chevy. It was pretty much my first vehicle, and I'm not sure why I bought it, other than it was a nice vehicle. It was a 1991 S-10 Blazer, Sport package, factory moonroof, all the options you could get in an S-10 Blazer, was really nice actually. Decent price, and for some reason I picked it out. That first day, my soul was changed, and I still bleed Chevrolet.

Thanks guys - my dad kept it up very well over the past 12 years and although it wasn't the best timing for me money-wise, there was no way I'd let it leave the family (other people constantly asked him when he was planning on selling it). I definitely plan on keeping it in the family - I hope to see my grandkids riding in it someday. I hope to add another mechanical family member one day too - an 83 Chevy that my father-in-law bought new and still uses occasionally to hunt (you can kind of see it in the back ground of this pic).
