Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I've had a cold for the last week and a half and I think its going away little by little. I missed a get together today because I didn't want to make it worse. I fired up my heaters in the basement and got a little wiring done. I had to solder a new 4 amp in line on the pass. side and put ends on a few more wires. I solder and shrink wrap my connections. I got the battery side done. The headlights, voltage regulator, and distributor, are hooked up. I still need to connect the purple wire to the starter.I forgot which terminal it went on believe it or not. I have to get and end connector for the temp sender. And I still need to wrap that part of the harness up. Its all loose now.I don't have any wiring gutters right now. I just want to get it running and stopping so I can get it to the painters. i need to get some parts ordered.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

No new work but I do have an announcement. The guys are coming!

Its my turn for a workday on my project. Some middle TN guys are coming to my place and we're going to work on my truck, eat and have a good time. I am going to be gathering the needed parts to finish up the brakes and get the motor started.
The date is slated as Jan. 19th. I hope that we have a big turnout as I want to see who's out there with the same hobby. Trucks!

If you want to join us you are welcome! Check out the thread below and chime in!

My mom always had the best advice. It was just a tad late. After a fall that involved blood, she'd say....."Careful!"

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

The 19th seems like forever away. At least there will be plenty of time for parts gathering. Are there any parts we could be on the lookout for, or is it all just basic parts house stuff?

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I couldn't take off to help Matt today and they were finishing up when I got home from work ,so I went parts buying and spent almost 300 in no time. I have to pick up some that were ordered tomorrow. I did get home and put the three u joints on. I will pick up a new carrier bearing tomorrow too.

That black and white box is an oil pump primer. And that other tool is a spring tool for brakes. I have no clue how to use that one as I always had my drums done for me. I hope one of you guys can school me on it.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

Hey Chuck. Missed you but I know how work is. I have spent about $300 on parts just to clean this engine, and get it ready to install. The little stuff adds up!
