Like I said about the dash...

It takes a lot of time and patience to get it smooth. It didn't always come out great looking after the first time it was primed, or the second or the third... I mean we played with it and filled in spots and sanded until it was ready to paint. Don't expect to get it perfect in a day.

I just wondered if you used resin and mat, which should stick very well and hold it's own, or if you used a filler/putty like bodno or duraglass.

If you used a filler I wondered if you just roughed up the surface or used some kind of adhesive promoter to help it stick to the dash.

It looks great, love it. I figure no matter if it's a daily or not it's gonna glare and probably bad, my black one does I dyed in my monte carlo and so did the 86 k10's I used gloss black and they glare, but I wouldn't change it to save my a$$. I love anything and everything shiney, just the white might be too much, not sure.

Also what's bad about the fillers is how they don't stay stuck to things that are common to expand and contract or flex. Being white, that helps reflecxt heat so that might help you alot, and if she doesn't set in direct sun for a long time that'll really keep it nice for a very long time. Just make sure some idiot doesn't jam their hand down on it hard and crack it.

Left it alone for a few months just sitting in the inside of my truck. Meanwhile, I did some other projects and then came back to it later. Had a couple spots that lifted a little and he went back and sanded it more and filled in where it was neccessary and painted it.

lol it has wiper blades and taillights now. That picture was taken right when we brought it home from picking up the bed from the paint booth. The lighting doesn't do the paint justice either I need to get a picture of it in the sunlight.

Loosen up the rear bumper brackets, put a jack under the bumper & lift it to square it w/the body. Looks like the bolts weren't tight enough & someone stepped on the bumper to get into the bed causing it to drop until the brackets bottomed out.

Looks like a solid truck though.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Nix the roll pan. The sport bumpers look sweet on GM trucks.

Hey SPR85GMC , What are the specs on the front wheels and tires ? Backspace and size of the rubber . The 20's look good . I like the dark center wheel on your dark truck .

I was looking (hope ing) for a more complete answer, maybe along the lines of...

we roughed the surface and layed glass mat with three layers of resin, then sanded and filled and sanded and filled...

or

we cleaned the dash and very carefully layed glass cloth over the entire dash with only two coats of resin and very carefully added filler to the craters the used heavy primer to finish out the somooothe look.

Sometimes people will blow you off when you ask a question, maybe the answer is to complicated or maybe they don't want to let their secret out, maybe they didn't do the work, maybe they had a bad day and everyone has asked the same question (ie 'my cousine has one just like that,except...)...

Share and share and share is main focus of this board, if you don't want to share no problem, I wont ask again.

They have confederate flag license plates in Mexico?

I guess I shouldn't be surprised, I have a mexican blanket here in TN. Bought it in Mazatlan back in the Navy days.

Nice wheels and stance, spr85gmc
