Re: Die-cast 67-72

Yeah, I know what you mean. Most of mine are stored in boxes. Heres a pic of the box the yellow/white comes in. (courtesy of Fleetside Paul) Do you have the black with flames?
They all came out around the same time a few years back, except for the High Profiles which came out last year; so the yellow/white and black/flames are really hard to find loose and even harder to find boxed.. The 5-Deep has the same trucks/cars, they're just painted different colors.

Thanks for the link. I have some BIG BALLERS I may put one of those bodies on the frame. I think they should fit. I hope to find one locally.

Re: Die-cast 67-72

chevy72tk,
Yes I know. Thanks though.
I have a couple of old RC trucks if anybody is interested in them.
I'll take $500.00 for all of them. I have more than that in the yellow Clod Buster.

It has a 4 channel radio. It will crab steer the hood comes up has real ball bearings in everything that moves. All the lights are functional. I have chargers and a little tool box full of spare parts and stuff.

This blue one is just straight out of the box I built it to play in the sand with at the beach. It's great fun.

Here is my dragter. This truck has a black magic motor in it. When I built this truck that was a top end motor of the day like 10,000 RPM motor. This truck will fly for a electric.

Re: Die-cast 67-72

I bought about 5 of these just to have them for projects. They have been sitting in the attic for who knows how long.

Here is the underside that will be the chassy for the new body.

Just ordered two of the 72 chevy truck bodies. Should have them by Friday I hope. They come with the front back and side marker decals. That means all I have to do is paint them to match my truck. I'll keep this updated as I go.

Any idea of the cost to take one of the 72 truck bodies and make it RC? I would love to have one, but I imagine the truck shell is the cheapest part of the entire project.

Re: Die-cast 67-72

Look on your local craigs list and see if anything is for sale or local paper pawn shop.
Yes the body is the cheapest part.

Hey Tim.
What have you been using to paint yours with? Rattle-can, paint brush, airbrush?
Oh, on the 62, they've come out with a fourth color. Black with yellow/gold on the side. I haven't seen any in stores yet though.

Robert,I`ve just used rattle can.I have one of those little compressors and an air-eraser (mini sandblaster) attachment and haven`t gotten an airbrush, yet.I just fill a cup with stripper and dunk the body in and forget it awhile, then hose off the paint.I`ve been using red oxide primer (my favorite),then the color.I`d like to do a bc/cc with a polished finish.Mine are just sprayed and done deal.
That`s funny the new`62 is black.I`ll have to check those out.I was considering doing this one black.I don`t know if I`ll try another factory-like color or go with a custom color like a silver-base candy pearl.Maybe I`ll just swap the new body onto this chassis.

Re: Die-cast 67-72

Thanks for the reply Tim. I'd never heard of an air-eraser, I'll have to check into that.
Here's a pic of the black '62 from http://www.hotwheelscollectors.com/S...sneak/archive/

Who is going to make the first 1967 Flatbed Dually for the Fast and the Furious bunch here? I think it might be a cool thing to do.

I got the two bodies yesterday before I left for the beach house. I will post pictures as I start building the frame for the first one. I'm going to paint it up like my truck.
