The front is 255/60/15 on a 15x7 5 lug.

The white rims off the truck are 295s on 15x8s
The black rims off the truck are 275s on 15x8s also.
I'll put the front caps on and take another pic this weekend.
Mike, those 10s look great on there. If they had been 5-lug I would have kept them. I considered going to 6-lug to be even more '67 GMC-like, but already did my rear up the way I wanted it (3.42 posi). I hope the later rear isn't too wide for 10s.

Now we know your tire & wheel size, so what's the drop? And please, for crying out loud, would you make sure the info you give is correct???

Morning Tim!
I'll try to get it correct.
Front
I bought used dropped spindles that were supposedly 2.5" and it has a 3" dropped spring, so total should be 5.5"
Rear
Currently 5" lowered springs but I plan to have add the 2" block
I also need to add the caviott that the trailing arm mounts on the crossmember are flipped over to give back some pinion angle and that losses about 1/2-3/4 inch in the rear.
I love the look af the 6 lug 10" rear stance so much, I may leave it for a while longer. I'm stashing stuff back for a 67 gmc build in the future and it will receive this rear end and wheels.
I'll keep you all posted on the final decision.

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!

love that bone stocker, Hammersmith.

Hey Mike, does it look like that wheel/tire deal would fit with the later rear? Mine is supposed to have 4/6. I bought a good to go frame off another member and all that sets on it so far is a bare cab with doors. I may not leave the 6" once built. Think more like 4-5" drop in rear to give some rake and allow for the truck to still be used as a truck w/o hacking the frame. That or bags in place of coils to give adjustability. That's way out there, yet.

Tim,
Here is a better pic from the front side. The bed is sitting loose but it pretty close. I'm not so sure they will fit on a later rear as well. Do you already have the wheels widened? I'm looking to do a set of 5 lug in as wide a hoop as I can get to fit. I'll keep you posted in my build thread in the spring how it turns out.
The cab is actually sitting turned a little if your wondering.

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!

Thanks. Looks close enough that the bed would need to be surely correct to really know. I have all 8 inchers for it right now and plan to run same size all around. But, I want 10 inchers to run drag radials on special occasions

I see you are cutting the bedsides down different than most on here. Maybe I'm seeing things. Are these long beds cut down to short? If so looks good.

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!

Been looking for 6 lug factory 15x8 for a while with no luck. I want to run my dog dish caps but can't afford new wheels from wheel vintiques. Has anyone tried using ralleys and mounting the caps to the ralley center cap by drilling a hole in dog dish. I tried one with my spare tire cap and it seems like it would work. I used jbweld to hold the nut on the back of the center cap and touched up the head of the bolt with paint from painting bowtie. It tightened up better than I thought it would because the cup in the center sat nice in recess of the ralley cap. Dog dish sits about 1/8" off wheel. I would use black rv silicone as a extra fastener to keep it from spinning on 1 bolt. I think it looks ok but would like some opinions before I go drilling my good caps that I spent hours painting.

All three trucks were long beds when I got them. The green truck is a c20 custom camper. I bought all the trucks with the intention on leaving the factory paint. I modified how I did the outer bedsides to minimize the metal distortion and push the section lines to the edge so when they rust they don't stand out as much. The final product is much easier to work with if painting is desired or or left alone like I have done.

I agree, a steelie is a factory type steel wheel that accepts a traditional hubcap. A styled steel wheel is a wheel with all sorts of crazy cut outs, slots, holes, triangles etc, similar to what is seen on most cars and trucks the last 20 or so years. I will include the factory rally wheel and factory spoke wheels in this definition also. Remember when the thing to do was a "shiny repaint in whatever color" and some "nice chrome mags", it has come back full circle to leave it with "original patina paint" and " steelies and hubcaps".

never seen that done before, could you shorten the center cap that the hub cap bolts to , to get the hub cap closer to the wheel.

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!

It's duable. But you would loose the center piece or use 4x4 front caps mill them down and figure a way too fasten center. Not sure if I even like the look. But 1/8 inch away from wheel is not bad hardly notice not touching. Might be hard to clean though.

You could grind down the flange where the lug nut area touches(pretty sure that alone would gain you an 1/8") so you don't loose the ability to bolt to the center. You could also grind down the edges of the top allowing it to "settle" a little farther down towards the wheel.
