Thanks Uncle Eric! I'm gonna see if I can fit my stock inners once I get the uppers in and I can see how low she sits with the springs. If I can't fit them I'm probably gonna go with hills rod and customs inners to maintain the stock look. The only thing is I'm gonna have to relocate the hood hinges for them so I might have to wait a little. Or I might just build some

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super Plain Jane

Hey guys, I haven't been doing much to the truck lately. Kinda been at a standstill waiting on parts to come together. Still trying to track down front brake pads, we found the rears but no one seems makes a soft compound pad for the front calipers I have. Dad got the uppers built and I picked them up while I was home this weekend. Gotta do a little mock up and make sure they are gonna work before nickel plating. Also got new front and rear bumpers at the Charlotte Auto Fair this weekend. Should have the uppers mocked up wednesday and a guy is coming Friday to put the windshield so I'll have some more updates soon. Let me know what you guys think

Nice bumper and those control arms look very nice! How'd your tail gate fitment end up?

Thanks Ryan! Still haven't sorted out the tailgate fitment yet. Next time my dad makes a trip up here he's gonna borrow a porta-power and we are gonna have to push the passenger side out a little. Shouldn't take too much work we just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Thanks uncle Eric, it's about an inch away. Looks pretty close in the pictures but I bounced on the front end and it didn't get too close. I have some pretty heavy springs in the front so it won't be traveling too much.

Thanks Ben! My dad built the arms using a fixture he uses to build late model uppers. We used a stock upper to set the fixture and then moved the ball joint back 1/4" for caster and made them 1" longer to compensate for drop We would gladly make a few more sets if there is any interest

Thanks man! There are a lot of younger guys on here, it's pretty cool to see! What kinda project truck did you get? And I just started tackling one project at a time until I got where I am now. You can do the same, just takes time and patience! Let me know when you get your project going, I'd like to check it out

It is really nice to see the young guys! Purchased a 72 C10 350 about a month ago. I've never really tackled one on my own, but my dad and I have worked together on a few classic cars (74 firebird and 68 oldsmobile). I'll make sure to let ya know! You've got me pretty excited for it!

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super Plain Jane

Those uppers are sexy bro. Your dad did a heck of a job. Where did get the parts to build them from? I have been contemplating doing something similar on my 2000 Silverado.

Thanks Adam, he had most of the parts around his shop from building circle track uppers so the only thing I had to track down was some 5" oc cross shafts. Most race teams use 6" so it took me a while but apparently JR Motorsports tried running 5" when they were going through an r&d phase and I found a guy who had a few sets. If you wanted to make a set shoot me a pm and I could get you the pieces together to make them. Or if you dont have a fixture we could knock out a set for you.

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super Plain Jane

Got a little done on the truck this weekend. Got the windshield put in on Tuesday, guy that installed it said he couldn't get the short 71-2 trim in so he used my old original long shelf trim. It actually turned out sweet but I have to polish it all while on the truck which kinda sucks. Its coming out pretty nice but I wanna wet sand it with some 2000 and buff it one last time before I call it good. Also got the new front bumper put on
