Filled the steering wheel cracks and painted it. Also finished the new floor mat install last night. Can't wait to get things back together.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
Checked for oil leaks, found at least one. Made arrangements for a rebuild, replaced lens cover screws for tail lights, cleaned the bulbs and inside, lens, fit a bulb in the license plate socket, too big but worked. Need a smaller one, any one know the number?

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
Pulled the front left rim off the headlight. Cut some slip washers for the square rim. Drained a quart from my engine, added a quart of MMO, drove it around the woods smokin like a chimney. Drained it out, wow mud. Black oil, still looks dirty, just changed it two weeks ago, drove less than 5 miles. Sat for 12, maybe more, years. I love this truck.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
if its all original and untouched that truck will be a show stopper even with the dirt, that is "real" barnyard dirt=$$$$. engine bay interior, etc we could use it as a template for correct placement of stuff. let me guess 64C10 step sbw and umm L6 3speed...

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
Pimpston, It's been in the family since 1964. Two owners, same family. Painted once, very close to original paint color. Not for sale, sorry, but thank you for asking. She is a smoker, rings, and valves maybe. I'm still cleaning the engine out. I will get some more pics soon. She is a keeper. The engine is scheduled for a rebuild July 1st. 230, L6 3speed, c-10 step short, metal bed over wood.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
I pulled the windshield to replace it and was extremely happy with what i found under the OEM gasket, NO RUST!! Since it's out the dash is going to get a quicky paint job, the rest of the interior can wait for now.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
It looks like you have an Oldsmobile 307. You might have to fabricate something for the engine mounts. If it was a Chevy 307 it would be simple.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
Hooked up the Loker shifter linkage. Test fitted the headers so i can get them ceramic coated. Put insulation around gas tank area in the cab so I can fab some speaker mounts.
Today I will test fit the seats and put the insulation in or go to the gym, then watch the nascar race and the the USA world cup game. Decisions decisions. |
