Re: 67 GMC super custom build
I also cut the hole into the cowl for the cold air piece just like the factory did it. First pics are from the truck that this set up came off of factory.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
The air cleaner setup is a option from 63 to 68 possibly 69 gm trucks. Rpo K46. Was probably mostly found on larger trucks but was available on all of them except tilt cab I believe

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
I'm all out of mods now. Cab goes for metal work in May so that is the beginning of the end. Then assembly!

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
I bought these clips from 60s car and routed my washer hose inside the cowl. They mount with the screws that mount the wire gutter so you won't notice this too much. Also my washer pump is now engine bay mounted so the hose will travel under the fender lip and go into the cowl on the lower right side.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
Those nut rivets are awesome. I’ve used a few on my truck and several on the Jeep.
I have the Cornwell tool for install. It works well, you can use a drill or a hex driver.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
Well I decided that I didn't really like the oak all that much. It's very common and it wasn't the finished look I was looking for. So today I got my new wood. Curly maple. A little more design to it. So it is still raw. I am going to attempt on the scraps I have to stain it charcoal grey like the picture below. Should pop nice with the stainless straps.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
I had jason do my curly maple boards and it was nice cause he Is local to me and saved some shipping . We had a mix up on the boards that the frame bolts go thru and he milled the holes quite a bit larger than they are supposed to be...... but he remade those 2 boards for me with no fuss and was great to deal with so if your in need of bed wood in the north this guy is a good resource to look at. https://www.hindsightbedwood.ca/

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
My cab repair started today! Hope I have a better experience this time from the last time. I did my homework this time and waited in a long line of ppl who all recommended him so I feel much better about this time. He says in a couple week he should have it completed and then it will get sealed. I'm so excited. I'll post pics of it if I can get him to send them to me.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
No. He used to be in warman but He built a shop on his acerage between Martensville and saskatoon. He only does vintage vehicles. Lots of the vehicles at the draggons he Has done. Threefourty-six in warman will be painting it.

A friend sent me a link to a truck very similar to how mine will look when complete. I thought I would share them.

Are you going stock suspension or moderately lowered?

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
I'm going stock height. This makes me want to lower it but that part is complete and I'm not going backwards. Maby after it's completed.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
Well I haven't done anything on my truck in months as I'm waiting for the return of my cab from the metal shop but I have been accumulating some parts for things I need to do this winter to get ready for the cab. Today I purchased 4 of these positioning dollys cause I got tired of rolling it around the garage. This is so nice. Feels like instantly added more space to the shop.
