Re: Post pics of your Longbed Trucks!! No short stuffs allowed!!
Thanks guys. That was my 72 before I sold it to fund my 68 swb, I know but the wife said "One at a time honey". That has ECE drop front spindles and 2" CPP drop springs in front. In the rear I used 4" drop monoleaf springs (leaf spring truck) and 2" drop shackles in the rear. It still wasn't quite low enough so I raised the front spring hangers to achieve the right stance. Check my public profile and in the 72 pictures you'll see what I did.

That is the stance I want my C20 to have. I'm assuming it's stock?
I'm not sure why mine doesn't sit that high. Here's mine when I got it home. Here it is in the snow with bigger tires on the back. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Post pics of your Longbed Trucks!! No short stuffs allowed!!
Thanks all, it looks better in pictures than in real life. Lots of patina and dents, lol. I hope to start fixing it up sometime in mid 2013. Gotta get the other project done first.

It's here in other posts, but what the hey.... a LONG longbed.
Bone stock, except for the shell. I believe it still has the stock springs in it.

Re: Post pics of your Longbed Trucks!! No short stuffs allowed!!
My neighbor across the street has a '59 Step side Long Bed that his father-in-law had restored a few years ago. 6 cylinder, 3 OTT, no oil filter. Bare bones, to say the least. The grandfather left it to the grandson, who is a total buttwipe. He couldn't care less about it. It's crying shame. They've valued it at $18k and will sell it the minute the grandma dies. This is one rare bird. If it comes available for sale, I'll post the for sale ad.

Re: Post pics of your Longbed Trucks!! No short stuffs allowed!!
Love the long beds. Posted here before but cannot find when. Need to get mine out more often. This was my first vehicle when I turned 15. Been a long time ago!
Poor thing hasn’t been registered since 2001 and last driven on a road since 1999. Fire it up once a year or so though. Interior was done in 1993. You can tell! Looking dated! Last time it was actually driven on a city street was the Detroit Woodward Dream cruise in 1999. Picture taken at Zoomad75s' house when we both lived in Detroit. Royal Oak, MI in this picture It kills me to see people chop longbeds down to short beds. People think sex change people are odd, well…..I feel the same way about those that chop long beds into short beds. Save the longbeds!

Here are my 70s:
1970 Custom/20 and a 1970 Camaro Z28. The C/20 is a daily driver, but the Z only takes trips around the yard (so far). |
