Re: My 93 Crewcab Build

Oh it started! And i have pics you pic whore!!

Well i picked up a truck super cheap yesterday (one i painted a few months ago) Got hit and bent the frame beyond repair. Its been to frame shop but still is not right so i got it for parts...

Going to use the back half off of this truck and graft onto mine because the ride kind of sucks with everything moved forward.. was good thought but im not happy so here we go again.

Re: My 93 Crewcab Build

You guys added more gravel by the shop, eh?
Very nice!!

Looking at those pics...
The frames don't look much different.
How much will you actually gain by swapping the frame?
Are the extra cab springs shorter?

Re: My 93 Crewcab Build

Yeah added a trailer drive

The frame on the crew starts dropping way back by the rear end and the one on the red on starts about 10" from back of the cab, all measured up to be the same but ill get them side by side and go from there.

Basically it would work but i probably wont be able to haul anything and the ride sucked

Re: My 93 Crewcab Build

Wow, I had never noticed this thread until now. Is it done yet? Gonna leave the sealed beams or upgrade to a composite front end? And, how are there enough hours in the day for everything you seem to do? Wow!

I was just cruising the 88-98 area since I spent the long weekend busting apart an old worn out, beat up and left for dead in a field for 5 years K1500. Making sure I was not leaving anything on the carcass before it gets shipped overseas as shredded metal.

Probably leave the grill that is in it for a while, i kind of like it since its all in one piece and is still pretty clean.

I dont know but i need some more hours

Re: My 93 Crewcab Build

See the difference in the frame on where it bends, i think it will be better in the long run especially if i haul with it.

And got the new part out today!!!

Will you be able to use the larger tank from the half ton truck frame? If possible I would recommend it. The small factory tank on the crewcab's really suck. It is probably the only thing I really hate about mine!
