Re: Die-cast 67-72

Haven't been buying anything lately. I have a couple of those things though.
You can see them on the right side of the picture.
Haven't even been looking. My daughter's car got stolen right after she moved to the beach house so we have been fighting police and insurance company on that and trying to find her a new car. Got her one a couple of weeks ago. Just like the one she had with a few more miles on it but it's in better shape.Insurance doesn't want to give us anything for her's so we haven't signed the paper work yet.
Have to get some updated pictures also done of the collection.

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Man...I just missed this one.It only had one bid at the starting price of $9.99.I bid on it the morning of the day the auction ended while I was at work.I bid $45.00 max. since shipping was $5.00.When I got home I checked and the same bidder added a buck to my bid and won.At least I made sure he didn`t get it for a measley 10 bucks :

I got one of these from my brother-in-law. It's a custom fleetside and also came in a version with a glider and ramp, I think it was called a sky liner or something, and is very expensive on ebay. They also released a 35th anniversary of it I think. Mine needs to be refurbished, but it was free.

Re: Die-cast 67-72

[QUOTE=FRENCHBLUE72;2829093]Thanks tim thats gonna look good on my shelf^^^^^^^^^^^^ still cant believe I paid that much for a hot wheels, but I just could not let you have it...................

Man,I felt like a terd for a minute. My intentions were to win it,not drive the winner`s price up,of course. You believe me,right? That Custom Fleetsider is one of the original Redlines...original Hotwheels, period.Under $50 is cheap in that condition. It says something about the 67-72 trucks that they made a customized version back then when they were new.Real new, like they hadn`t even come out with the new blunt hood yet.Like I said, these trucks have been a favorite since their debute.I remember being facinated with the artwork on the AMT model kit.
Maybe next time

The other one was called the "Sky Show" and they are way pricey for sure.I`drather have this one.A little more down to earth you might say.

I just looked at Ebay models last night. How`d I miss those?I think I`ve fond some before that weren`t picked up on my search.I go to Models//Automotive//either Trucks or Vintage//then refine it with Chevy Trucks.I think when I go with just Chevy it turns up more.I guess I`ve missed some good ones from being too lazy to sift through "all" the Chevy listings.I do collect El Camino kits, too.I usually find them in Vintage under truck.I bet I`ve missed alot that way though.

Re: Die-cast 67-72

Here is a better picture of my two fleetsides. I have modified both of them. The red is to look more like my truck. The green one was just cleaned up real good. The red one was missing the bed cover when I bought it so it was given a more custom cover with surf boards.

Andy, those turned out nice. The red one looks like a concept of your truck`s paint job.I`d really like to add at least one to my collection.

Re: Die-cast 67-72

Wow!I`m using that search.I`m sure I can end up with one.

I found it on Ebay:
Another custom job on a`62...blackwall Real Riders. It`s riveted back together,so I`ll give it a paint job.Although I`m torn.I kinda like having them altered other than paint. So,they appear as they could be a version by Hot Wheels.I`d like to have this guy`s diarama...

What do you guys think?Paint, most likely stock-like,the way I like`em real?Or,leave paint and have a variation of the same truck.I could have a pro-street,4wd,and a custom.
Here are my others:

Or,imagine a color like this with the Real Riders.I`d use a different original color.Like red w/ white top.Definately more one-off this way.And suttle,the way I like it:

You're missing one. 3rd from the left. It's like a forest service version, very limited edition, but affordable.

Not all White Lightnings have white tires. Sometimes it just has a white interior and/or white base. There's a whole list of different options, which I can't remember right now.

I purchased a case of these JLs before I found singles on line. So I have 2 sets of 4, JL John Deer die cast trucks that I would like to sell. The trucks are 1, 2000 Ram pickup, 1, 59 Ford pickup, 1, 69 Blazer, and 1, 50 chevy pickup. I want $12.00 each set if anyone is interested. $6.50 priority mail shipping. WES
