I can tell it's a white 3/4 ton longbed fleetside from the crayons.
That is a really nicely set up L6.
Headers, A/C and P/S.

No , sorry . There were 1888 vehicles at the show and when I went through the pictures I took there were some I wish I would have gotten more of.

It's a 292 and I think the engine is what impressed me the most 'cause I neglected to get a picture of the truck itself. I think it was completely stock appearing if I remember correctly.

Well, Headers and a 2 or 4 Bbl carb are aftermarket. A 292 factory-optioned with P/S, and A/C would be extremely rare. Mostly they were put into bigger rigs, work trucks, fleet users, farm trucks -- and as a whole that demographic preferred to tough it out.

It looks like aftermarket A/C and it was running 2 2bbl carbs and upgraded brakes. I wish I would have looked it over a little bit more but I actually stopped to talk with friends and never stepped back over to look at the truck again. It's hard not to get distracted at a show that big.

Re: Trucks in the Wild

Weber 38/38 carbs would be my guess. 250 usually doesn't have the bypass hose from water pump to water outlet under t-stat. Either way pretty cool setup . And small vacuum booster on the brakes.

That is a nice looking CB. 23 channel, I'd guess. Wonder if it would still work?
That's a complicated home brew switch panel, under the van style coffee deck. This must be the cab of the C/500 dump truck.

Not a CB ! It’s a Pioneer SuperTuner. Available in both 8 track and cassette versions. I installed one in my 55 Bel Air. I also installed two 6x9 Pioneer coaxial speakers in the rear deck. The sound quality was light years better than anything available at the time. I had it mounted in a detachable slide in out mount because theft was always a problem.
