Re: Shawno72's long overdue 68 daily driver build thread

What are you using on your threaded fittings for sealant?
DOT line and PTC fittings?
I love the ride on my blazer with air bags.
It's just not as low as static can be.

I am using the DOT red 1/4" line and PTC fittings. When I used to work for a company the built heavy haul trailers, I was in charge of installing the air ride and electrical. We used standard tighten to connect fittings and they almost never leaked. I used teflon tape for my fittings and on the trailers. I am just at a point where I think springs are one less thing to concern myself with and the ride stays low It takes aboout 2 weeks for the drivers side to slowly bleed down an inch but the ride is night and day with the springs and I am not quite ready to remove the hats off the top of the bags. Later on I may go back with the air bags once I can add a compressor and tank to make them adjustable.

Are you hitting the bump stops or do your bags and/or shocks make the ride that rough? You're starting to scare me away form bags...

I believe I am hitting the internal bump stops inside the bags. In all fairness the bags are only inflated to 25 psi which is to low. I am just wanting to stop worrying about the air. Now someday when/if I do a drop member then things will be different.

Nice ride! My wife has a CRV and loves it.

Did you ever buy a set of rear drop springs for it?

Re: Shawno72's long overdue 68 daily driver build thread

Thanks guys. Yes I worked out a deal for some rear springs. I actually think I want to save up a little cash and get the paint done. Truth be told ice kind of hit a wall with this build, been really enjoying driving it. Kind of want to take a little breather for a month of two and see what I feel to do next. Gonna hit the brothers show in June 350 miles south in LA.

There is a complete PB drop member setup front and rear in the for sale area. not badly priced. As for paint, I did just buy myself a good ol cheap gun yesterday!
