Re: Glock's new project: "Fred"
Proof!!!!
Thanks guys!!! I am soooo flippin happy that it finally works, but bummed I have to tear into him again. I have the heater core out, and will get the rest of the system drained and pull the thermostat tomorrow. I'll also install mcbassin's temp adapter then too. I smell like antifreeze, so I'm gonna leave y'all with some pics of the new pedal, and I'm going to hit the shower!

Re: Glock's new project: "Fred"
Bob, what did you use to make such precise cuts in the sheetmetal?

Re: Glock's new project: "Fred"
I made the cuts with a plasma cutter, then cleaned them up with a flapper wheel. I bent the side piece in the vice to fit the curve in the pedal.

Re: Glock's new project: "Fred"
NO!!!
The kids and I are on our way to Wellington for a test run and gas. I'm a little concerned about the cooling system, but I'll keep my eye on it. The lower rad hose wasn't getting very hot at the water neck, even though the heater hoses were blazing hot, and they are right behind the rad hose. But the truck's gauge (sending unit on the pass head) reads just under 200*, and the computer reads 195* (sending unit on drivers head). So I'll just watch it closely. Here we go!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Glock's new project: "Fred"
It runs awesome!!!! I am still a little concerned about how blazing hot the heater hoses and upper rad hose is, but both the truck's temp gauge and the PCM read right at 195* while driving, and barely over 200 while sitting at a light.

Re: Glock's new project: "Fred"
Did they reset the temp settings for the engine? I know my 03 6.0 runs pretty much right under 210.
Glad to hear she runs good man. |

Re: Glock's new project: "Fred"
Update from the road
Running awesome still, I think the PCM is learning everything as is feels better each time I start and drive it. 75 miles and the gas gauge finally moved a little. Only problem is the gas pedal position. It's waaaay too high! I'll pull if off tomorrow morning and tweak it down about 3", that should put it about 1/4" off the floor at WOT.

Re: Glock's new project: "Fred"
That thought crossed my mind when I looked at the pics of it. But I thought, "Bob has it all under control. I'm sure he test fit it." How are the hoses feeling? Glad to hear its running better. I guess if we ever road trip all the CO trucks it will be like 3 gas stations for all of us and 1 for you. Way to go man!

Re: Glock's new project: "Fred"
It felt fine just hopinh in and trying. But after driving it for a while.......
The hoses feel the same, but won't go over 195 while driving. I grabbed the infared from work but haven't used it yet.
