Do you have any pics of the inside of the bed? It looks like you raised it up. I'm about to do the same. Any tips?

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks

the bed , is raised up , as my chassis is a 1994 full size chevy , channeled and suspension dropped, the gas tank is still half under the cab and the box,
so i bolted 3/4 plywood in , counter sunk the heads , then went to menards and got some construction glue, and brad nailed the car siding on top of the 3/4 plywood and stained it. cost of bed approx 160.00 to do the floor

I've had the 327 in once before I pulled it... I bought a 66 BBW SWB custom and put it in that one and then pulled the 327 out of the 66 when I sold it...
and I also had a NOS front bowtie emblem like your talking about but ended up liking the current one so I sold it..

I'm new here but not new to these trucks... We've got quite a few including 3 active projects. Shown is a 64 suburban we just completed... and sold.
Thanks!

Thanks!
I hate to reveal my ignorance about the old Suburbans, but is that wooden headliner original or a custom touch you did? I'm assuming custom along with the wood floor too. How about the roof rack? Original or something more modern that you adapted to the 'Burb?

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks

the suburbans had a cardboard headliner and a plywood floor but the rack is original. did you notice the side trim? not found on suburbans. I had to shorten long bed trim to fit.

thanks for the comments... clem

My daily since i turned 16. she was the only one of her kind in the high school parking lot. 1965 C10 longbed, 355ci, 4 speed international new process tranny, torched coils, flat black tractor paint and do-it best safety red. It sure is nice being 18 and riding around in classic iron

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks

Well I wish I had found this site before my build started. This has been about an 18 month love/hate relationship. Had I found this site then I would have been finished much sooner. I am hoping to have the body done and painted by Christmas.

This is a 65 GMC Fender Side (Chevy called it Step Side) One owner with only one repaint in 1996. I had to replace one fender and the rocker panels Engine is a double hump head 327 out of an early 60s chevy. Everything else is what the factory gave her except changing the column shift to the floor. Still lots of work to do but boy does she run
