Re: "Rice Rocket'
ok im looking and there aint no plug inside the heater box lol!!! can it come off/out? IT AINT THERE LOL!!!
well, still not on the road yet, parking brake cables i got from austin (ATT chevy) were seized up..so I just ordered some from orielly, they'll be here morrow, hopeffully he knew what i was talking about when I ordered :S I hope its the right thing! i put pb blaster in the old ones to soak, maybe they will loosen up if the ones i ordered were wrong..and i just met an old hotrodder from the boro, sold him some valvecovers he wanted, and he showed me some pics of a set of finned vintage valvecovers he restored and did a beautiful job on!...

Re: "Rice Rocket'
Hey old blue how are you liking those Jeep springs? Did you have to modify the retainer? Mine bottom out before they get tight on the spring. How much total drop did you get with the bed on?

Re: "Rice Rocket'
1-Will you be using your truck for hauling anything more than lawnchair/cooler to cruise ins or shows?
2-If you dont haul anything they are pretty cheap way to lower 4-5" with bed on, its bout 4" from stock un modified bumpstop..you can make your own adj. tracbar/shock relocators too! 3-If I keep em I need to modify spring pearch the springs are too thin and bottom out like you said...

Re: "Rice Rocket'
worked on my filler today, I still need to chop a stock neck off a junkyard truck and notch my pipe out for my light, OR run 'basic, non deluxe' sidemarkers...(will match fronts, but if i wanna swap out i wont be able to without taking everything apart and letting gas fumes get off b4 i weld)
ordered a parking brake cable will be here morrow, gonna triple check my shoes, may get some FOR my truck, and make sure they match the ones installed.. Didnt really get much done, mostly sat in the shop and listened to radio and looked at truck, its hard to get motivated, I was excited to get back to work after driving it for a day!

Re: "Rice Rocket'
I know what you mean by not being motivated, everything cost money and adds up way to fast. Most of the time some buddies show up at the house and we end up drinking beer and listening to the radio. I think I get a lot more work done when I am alone.

Re: "Rice Rocket'
I had a world of trouble with my e brakes too. THe ones for my 68 were not even close. I ended up with two sets, Brake best, the cable was to long and the Wagner ones didn't have the correct length spring. So i took the springs off the longer cable and put them one the shorter cable.
E-brakes were the one thing my dad stressed since his truck rolled away from him when he was a kid. |
