Re: Project '86
I'm thinking I am going to go with a wood bed. Hope to have something to show for that idea over the next couple weeks...

Re: Project '86
Okay, I am planning to do a wood bed but I haven't yet decided on the stain color or the bed strips. Since the truck is currently black I am leaning towards black stain with unpolished SS strips. Once I get the truck painted I will redo the wood a more appropriate color. Any thoughts?

Re: Project '86
I would go with the black stain and leave it black after paint. Just my opinion.

Re: Project '86
Getting it back together for TexMex. Unfortunately it will still look just like it did at Turkey Drag.
Of course it's still has no engine so my buddy is going to tow it with his tow pig Last edited by dv8customs; 04-03-2011 at 09:21 PM. |

Re: Project '86
Thanks guys
Here's one with the hood on. I need to trim some off the bottom of the hood because it is hitting the inner fender and won't quite go down far enough. |

Re: Project '86
Don't take this the wrong way but, I LOVE THIS TRUCK! This build is the reason I joined this forum. I have an '81, when I started doing some research and everything I wanted to address you have covered. Every modification looks perfect, this is what I want to build.
Thanks for the inspiration!!! |

[QUOTE=dv8customs;4611303]Thanks guys
Here's one with the hood on. I need to trim some off the bottom of the hood because it is hitting the inner fender and won't quite go down far enough. The hood came out great. Did you put the wood down? Just when you think this truck can't get better along comes another post showing you it can. Posted via Mobile Device |

Looks great dv8! I agree the hood looks awesome. Just like the rest of the truck.

Re: Project '86
Curly maple with a stain that compliments whatever color you decide to paint it would be awesome! You still working out beside your house? Or are you in a garage now? Oh, and hows the kid doing? Truck is looking great, btw......

He is what is important. Just think what he's going to create. If he's smiling now, I would be willing to bet the dream has already started. I cant wait to see the rocker damage from the pedal truck... Posted via Mobile Device |
