Re: 198Plus build

Alan I talked to them about blasting the doors so I could see the welds they had covered up and their response was I need to pay them for the work they have done then they will show me.........Bottom line my truck is being held hostage.

Re: 198Plus build

If it is a business you are dealing with contact the Attorney General. If they are a member of the BBB, you can also contact them. What if you look inside the door? If it is real bad, you would think something would show up on the inside.

Even more reason to doubt their work. I hate that your going thru this.

I believe he said they sprayed under coating on the inside if I remember correctly.

Re: 198Plus build

I have made so many bad decisions on my build, you would think after 52 years I would know better I've always preached to my children that life is about the choices you make, why wasn't I listening to myself.....

Think of it as providing us insight on things to look out for when we do our projects.

Kidding aside I know it can be frustrating. Maybe you just need to step back and re-look at where you are going. Spend some time prioritizing things and setting goals. Make sure they are not too big, and are achievable. It feels good to check things off the list. If you need to save for something, know that it is worth the wait, and the end product will be better.

Re: 198Plus build

Ronnie, that is pathetic. The shop should not be allowed to perform this type of work. That is the quality of work that makes most of us feel pretty good about the quality we produce.

If Alan can't fit you in, we welcome the opportunity. As you know, we only do '60-'66 Chevy/GMC trucks, so we are not strangers to what it takes to do them right.

Good luck and let me know if I can help.

P.S. - The high hump tranny cover was shipped to them on Wednesday or Thursday, so I guess that gesture didn't help much in negotiating a better deal with them!

I'm probably going to take them to small claims court, I have nothing to lose.

Re: 198Plus build

Seeing that kind of work is really scary. Just imagine what their frame work is like i.e. welding crossmembers etc. People pay good money and recieve crap like that. I think I need to raise my rate. Based on quality.

Ronnie we need to get together sometime and discuss a plan which way you want to go with this truck. Remember changeing your mind only cost money. It's like someone your building a house for and they decide to change where a door goes after the room is already built. Think long and hard about a definate plan. Trying to eliminate future headaches. Everything can't be accounted for, but a good plan and goal helps.

I can probably swing 3 builds. I'm not blowing Shannon off at all. He's capable of doing most of his work he just needs a little guidance. I can concentrate on yours the nights he doesn't work on his. Let me get this yoda running and we can get together and discuss the plan. This yoda situation has put a big kink in my plan.

I know you want it done yesterday Were you happy with the progress/speed I made the last time I worked on it? I was working about 10 hrs a week the last time. I can bump it up some if needed.
