Big Drop! 4/6 Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Put an awesome bolt to bolt no fabricating 4/6 drop on my 69 C10 today!! Great deal, great price!
Note: You can put a 4/6 drop springs and spindles on without putting in the "C" notch. But, yes "but", you should watch carefully when carrying anything in the bed of any weight. My 4/6 drop put my frame 1 inch about the rear end "bump stops". Sooo... maybe in time I'll put the "C" notch into frame when I have more time and equipment. But just letting anyone who wants a 4/6 drop know, you can do it without the "C" notch, but keep in mind what I said above. "Any weight" Note 2: My first thought was to cut off half the "bump stop" to make more room... but no no no.... at least with my rear end (93 with 45x295x20's) it would cause a great problem if one of my tires went down to far(ditch/hole) which would cause the up inner part of the other side to tuck in and then I would rub my inner 295 tires against my fender well. So, keep in mind what size tire and offset of the rim when you start debating on cutting on your "bump stops" [[Long note, sorry. Hopefully it'll save someone's wallet somewhere!]] The drop I used was from the website below: http://www.andysautosport.com/chevro...s00000437.html $580 bucks (shipping from California to Arkansas) So amused because I really didn't have to do any fabricating to install the drop. I nearly installed the entire drop SOLO. But a friend came along, so its a great drop kit that mounted perfect to my truck mods! 69 Chevy, with a 93 rear end, and a 71 front A arms/disc brakes. WELL WORTH THE PRICE FOR A GREAT 4/6 ~Tyler |

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Well, tonight I became a PREMIUM member! And then bought all the rust repair panels I need for the cab from Top Banana (supporting Vendor).
So now.... I have a pressure pot sand blaster, a powder coat gun and oven along with all the tools and equipment I already had. After "Santa" brings me the parts I'll be ready for de-rusting after CHRIST-mas.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
I borrowed my dad's truck and picked up my repaired fender from the shop. I'll try to get pics up later. Anyway, they seem to have done a great job....the new grey primer looks awesome.
I also met a shop worker there who does body work on the side, for $30.00 per hour. Just expanding my options. |

Well I didn't get anything done today but I did get some stuff done this week. The truck now goes up and down under isn't own power. All the Airlines/ Solenoids have been mounted and routed.

I took my truck through the car wash to see the leaks. New rubber and seals are now on the list.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Last weekend put in the new carpet, new fuel tank, fuel sending unit; did some touch up spray around wheel well openings; detailed door jams, rockers, kick panels...and probably a bunch of other stuff.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Merry Christmas to yourself, Mud!!!!!
My computer is on the fritz. Free hard drive from Apple is being installed, so I'm not sure if this is going to come through. I found some two point belts in my parts stash that will work with the bench seat. So, in they went.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
I talked to the guy I'm buying the OEM rear fender from....getting the shipping total soon.
I just uploaded the newly repaired fender pics to Photobucket, about to post those here. I'm so happy to finally get started on my truck. I was so foolish to think I could just let it sit. |

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
My dad came over today and I was able to show him some of my progress, new parts, and plans. He is impressed, which of course, makes me feel proud as can be!
Today I learned that I can use polyarmour tubing for my new fuel lines and that I can get all of that and the necessary tools at the local NAPA. I also found out that dad still has the original hubcaps and wheels but it will next spring before we can get to those in his garage attic. Still that's very important as it will save me having to buy others. *Thanks to everyone who gave info on those topics. OK! Just bought a Craftsman double flare kit, a member-suggested tube bender, and a Rigid tube cutter with reamer. Amazing how just this morning I was asking advice on prebent stainless steel tubing and now I'm ordering tools to do it myself. :-) Last edited by In The Ten Ring; 12-07-2013 at 09:05 PM. |

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Mocked up my gas tank that I removed from the cab and put it underneath my frame and filled in some holes that were on the body. I decided to go with the 69 Camaro gas tank and do a flip down license plate.
