The hoses deteriorate from the inside out, and when they get bad enough they can swell up absorbing some of the pressure meant to reach the wheel cylinders.
I replaced that hose.....around 2 years ago, but for another $20 i'll get another why the brake system is open.

I can speak on this also....lost a front wheel cylinder in a 63 c-10 back in 1997 and it ended up in a 5 car/truck pile up. The single masters were used by many companies for a long time, but I do agree that a dual mc is better. I will be upgrading, but it'll have to wait a few months. This 63 is my daily driver, so I need it on the road and reliable and will go to the disk brakes probably after the 1st of the new year.

Yeah, I live in Sapulpa....
Started putting my beat-up trim back on last night - the light stripe is too long, sticks out about 1/2 inch...back to paint shop next week.
I may be at Braum's tomorrow night anyway.

Braums.....isn't that the good burger place in OK? I went through OK a few times for some rodeos and there was a great burger place out there called braums. Wish we had one of those here.

Depends on the individual, I guess. Great ice cream, so-so burgers, IMHO.
Cool car show there in Sapulpa every Thursday night - I've seen the parking lot filled, and more classics parking next door a few times this summer.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

4 hours of welding last night on a Step Notch, My buddy got delerious and welded the INSIDE of the notch on one side! Rofl. (too many Busch Lights...)

Anyone have any pics of bags mounted on Drag Links NOT in the the stock spring location? Once I saw them mounted farther forward. (middle pic shows bag mounted in stock spring position)

Top pic shows the wheel wells violently butchered out with a sawzall.

Bottom pic shows how the path the exhaust takes. It only hangs below the frame a half inch in front where it crosses from the motor area to just below the drivers seat.

Have a good week

Gotcha.....we flew into Wichita, KS...rental car to Enid, OK, down to Lawton, OK, Dallas FT. Worth TX, then up to St. Pauls Minnesota before heading back to VA at the time....was spring 2004, but I still remember the Braums burgers.

Have a good week

it is really easy to get those things put together wrong, caught myself 3 times getting things backwards. finally put a jig together on a table, tacked everything up triple checked it , then made the cuts and welded it up........

start on this picture and then click thru the thumbnails, it shows how we finally finished it up. Kieth

Had the back glass installed and stuck the dome light in too.

My buddy talked me into using the front bumper guards since we had them... so I stuck them on too.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

I've had some productive days lately. Today I finished up the new bed wood install. Very satisfying, because I cut it all, painted it and put in all those da** nuts, bolts and washers myself.

Also, finished up the install of the AAW wiring harness and figured out my brake light issue (simple blown fuse after chasing my tail for hours, aargh.) Still a million things to do, but now I can almost drive it.

I was gonna go for a drive today, but I need a new wiper switch so I have no wipers and it started raining. Figures. Here's some pics of the bed wood.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

I added a trunk to the bed of my '63 long fleet. I found a 60" UWS aluminum tool box on eBay locally that fits quite well. I had to get a key and fix the latch but the price was right. It is attached to the bed by (6) 5/16"x2 1/2" bolts that pass through (6) hockey pucks to raise the box off the bed boards. This should make cleaning easier and allow the bed to dry underneath. The box is still below the bed rail even with the extra inch of height from the hockey pucks. It's nice to have a trunk now.

...ned.

No build thread Don but thanks for the kind words - means A LOT!

I have been keeping a journal for my Dad who lives in South Georgia and I send him regular updates with photos but that's as close to a build thread as I ever thought I'd get.

This thread keeps me motivated and focused with all the incredible work that goes on here.

Rob - your dash and gauges are exquisite!

Earl - you nailed it - perfect looking bed!

Most of all Joe - keep the faith brother - never give up & keep pecking away and YOU WILL GET IT.

Those words are why I named my truck Ruth-Ann; after a dear lady I knew from church who despite many reasons too - never did.

keep plugg'n

Found a scissor jack at a swap meet yesterday and slide it under the seat today. Future self road side assistance plan is well underway.
