Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Well yesterday I tried to scrape the rust from the floor of my bed with a wire wheel. Didn't turn out like I wanted so I got a wire brush and went to town. So then I rolled the floor with some Rustolem Rusty Metal Primer. It will be ok until I can find another floor.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
installed a new rear body wiring harness, along with new tail light and backup light assemblies. while I was at it, I figured i would actually make the turn signals work, so I tore apart the steering column...
... while i was at it.... also figured since I was in there, I might as well replace the guts of the steering column. SO... I have functioning lights in the rear, turn signals that work, and actually cancel themselves, and the new inner workings of the steering column make it feel like a new truck! shifter is more responsive, (not as sloppy), oh, and I mounted the wheel straight! now I just have to find new "natural" spots for my hands. Its amazing how all those little things really added up to a better, more reliable driver.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Found the color. 2009/2010 Caddy Cherry Red (almost black).
Went to the Caddie dealer who wanted to send my woman home with a new Escalade. I told her to tell them to look at me (old, short and fat)..."Did I look like I have the income of an NBA Player?" Got the color code. Then went to the paint store just to make sure I knew what the paint was going to cost (round numbers). Also, got some black like POR for the motor clean-up. Met a great guy who is going to help out with some contacts on upholstery, body and paint, wheel stuff, etc. He installed filter and seals and the new aluminum pan on the 350 tranny while I watched. I came home like this.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Bought the gas cap, metal fuel lines and the raw metal for the camaro gas tank install. All I need now are the bolts to mount it. I will fab this up this weekend. Looking forward to providing a thread when it's done.

Replaced Upper rad hose and RH exhaust manifold. Does dreaming of headers or LS swap count?

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Worked on my 72 Burb a little: getting it ready for a C-notch, shock relocators & super trac bar - removed gas tank, DS bumpstop & under frame support plate. Can't budge the upper trac bar bolt - like it's seized to the bushing. Also confirmed the G80 was removed by a PO. Think it's got a Frankenstein rear end.

I drove mine down the street a bit and then tried to degrease the engine compartment. Didnt get much cleaner and knocked some paint off the engine.
