Re: Crash's 69 K10

More progress today.. I decided to attempt the headliner trim install for the third time… It was a success this time.

Then I worked on the sun visors.. They turned out great.. Still need to clean them up after the install

Next up was deciding how to route the AC lines.

Finally I worked on getting everything mounted under the hood on the Driver’s side fender. Ready for windshield washer fluid.. now I just need a windshield..

Tomorrow I will start on mounting the front bumper and wire in the ternary AC switch along with the rest of the AC control wiring.

Getting closer each day…

Steve,

I serves a few purposes..

It adapts the 1 5/16" LS hose size to the 1 1/2" of the 69 radiator.

It allows me a place to vent all of the air out of the system.. Important on the LS..

It allows me a place to route the LS Steam Vent Tube..

Truck's coming along great! I've found that anything dealing with trim is a terrible job to do.

Re: Crash's 69 K10

Started out the day installing the front bumper.. The driver’s side is a little higher than the passenger side. I spent a hour or so attempting to adjust. I made it better but I am still not happy.. If any body has any tips on how to make it better let me know.

I wired up the ternary switch and the rest of the AC/Heater control wires. I think that is the last bit of wiring left on this build.

Installed the radiator cover..

This afternoon was very nice.. mid 60’s, thought I would move it outside and knock the dust off of it. I took lots of pictures..

Sorry about all of the pics.. I am just a little bet proud of it…

Backed it back into the shop and installed the antenna…

Received notification that my glass order has arrived in OKC.. Should be delivered on Tuesday, if the weather doesn’t delay it. If it does, I will attempt to get it installed this coming weekend..

You have every right to be proud of your hard work. That truck is beautiful. I hope mine is half as nice as yours. On your bumper... if it comes down to it you might have to egg out the holes in the brackets.

Thanks.. I thought about that after I put all the tools up.. It is really close right now.. But I bet I end up pulling it off and do just that.

Re: Crash's 69 K10

Update..
Worked on getting the glass installed today. I found a glass guy that knows how to install glass in these older vehicles. We started on the windshield first, got it about ¾ of the way in and decided was not going to fit. The glass guy thinks the glass may be too large. We pulled it out and decided to try it a second time and we thought we had it in, put the top trim jumped out of the groove in the rubber. It looks really nice, but it will have to come out again to get it right. Going back next weekend to try again, this time the Glass Guy will bring a tool to trim the glass down just a little.

We got the back glass in with no problems..

I also decided on a set of wheels and tires for the truck, 18 x 9 Moto Metal 951’s with LT325/60/18 Nitto Terra Grapplers, but thought I might better check the fit of the wheel before I had the tires mounted. Good thing I did the center bore of the wheel is way too small for the front hubs. Back to the drawing board.

Mark, that thing is really looking killer!

Sorry to hear about the bad luck on the wheels, but you could run trash can lids on that rascal and it still gonna look great.
