Do you know if the brake/clutch pedal assembly is the same as the K10/20/30's?

Re: 1981 Chevrolet C50 Pick-up Conversion
So its been a while since I last posted... I have been enjoying my truck any chance I can drive it.
The other week I picked up a 20" LED light bar. Mounted it, I think it looks good. I have not really got a chance to use it in the dark.

Re: 1981 Chevrolet C50 Pick-up Conversion
Good afternoon All,
I was at our local Car and Truck Show and Swap Meet this weekend in Fenelon Falls, Ontario. With little encouragement my son got me to go into the Rev Competition. We won with 122.1 db. He was very happy, and I was glad he was able to be in the truck with me when we did it. Here are some photos, and a link to the video...

Re: 1981 Chevrolet C50 Pick-up Conversion
UPNADM, I just read your whole thread. You did a great job on your truck. But what really struck me is that you live in Lindsay. That's my home town, where I grew up. I live in BC now, but still get back to see the folks in Lindsay about once a year. I was chuckling seeing the backgrounds of your outside photos and recognizing the locations. Could probably drive to your front door.

Re: 1981 Chevrolet C50 Pick-up Conversion
Can you park that beast in the angle parking on Kent? I thought you lived along 36 south. The video showed the old rail line overpass in the background, and your son goes to Queen Vic school. Have fun with the float! Did you find different gears for the rear end?

Re: 1981 Chevrolet C50 Pick-up Conversion
Been a while since I have really done anything to my truck. Just been enjoying driving it.
I have been on the search for a correct era roll bar and finally found one out of a square body truck. Put a little color on it, and ordered a 54" LED light bar... Its on its way. I will post it all together when I install it.

Got everything sitting in place, not sure about the look though....
Thoughts before I start drilling holes? Not sure if it suits...

Re: 1981 Chevrolet C50 Pick-up Conversion
What do you think I could get for my c50? It's a 67 fire truck. Hand painted on be door is the fire dept logo. Is there a buyers market for these trucks? There is one small bit of rust on the passenger side fender. Other than that it is clear

Re: 1981 Chevrolet C50 Pick-up Conversion
UPNADM, this is an epic truck and a worthwhile story to read, read it all! Great looking rig. I hope you are enjoying it and get it out often. I am really appreciative of your info on the RO paint process. I am going to use it as I refinish parts of my trucks. I'm betting I can even mix the colors to get real close to my stock colors and just do touch up for now. Anyway, thanks! I am excited about this. LT7A

Re: 1981 Chevrolet C50 Pick-up Conversion
Cool forum, very cool truck.
I've been seeing the pics for a bit, just never hit the forum before. I'm sure the answer to my question is somewhere in this thread, but I haven't had much luck finding it, so here we go... Building a 79 C50 pickup, just got the bed & it's a little short. I'm on a 125" wheelbase & figured it would just line up. No such luck, as you can see. I was thinking the easy way to close the gap is just move the fenders back, but it appears you didn't go that route. (seeing as the fuel filler door is in the stock location.) So...what did you do, cut the frame? |

Re: 1981 Chevrolet C50 Pick-up Conversion
I cut a section out of the frame. Some people remove the rivets and move the rear suspension forward, but I find it much faster & easier to cut. Many of my trucks have frames that taper in size at the rear, moving the suspension would not work well.
