Thanks. Now that space is actually useful. I might add power port there later too.

Re: What did you do to your truck today??

I fixed a fuel leak on the 93. One of the fuel line o-rings was bad.

Replaced a bunch of brake line clips and cable anchors that were broken or missing. The main engine harness was routed incorrectly and drooping very close to the exhaust manifold.

Re: What did you do to your truck today??

Plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor on my mother's 89. Also changed the oil. While working on it I found a water leak. Freeze plug behind the starter.

Re: What did you do to your truck today??

They gave me a bad freeze plug, it pushed right in with my finger. I got one from elsewhere and thought I was finished, then I noticed the harmonic balancer wobbling around. I have a used one but will have to get a new seal tomorrow.

Re: What did you do to your truck today??

Here's a better picture of the balancer. You can see the outer ring is off center, and compared to the other one it has shifted. So I'll have to check the timing again once I get the "new" one on.

Re: What did you do to your truck today??

Just curious how many miles on the balancer. I know they have varied lifespans.

I did cap and rotor on my Suburban a month or so ago. It wouldn't fire over when it was wet out, until it dried. That's when I realized how many miles and how long it's been since I put that motor in. I noticed a split plug wire and yes the plugs need replacement. But I developed a bad head gasket and will do the wires and plugs on reassembly. I also have new P/S hoses to install once heads go back on. It's been a good vehicle. Just time to finally give it some love.

Re: What did you do to your truck today??

Her odometer shows 222xxx miles. It was running rough and no codes so I gave it a tune up. It ran great but when I went to change the oil after that I noticed the dripping water. I noticed the balancer while I was checking for leaks with it running after I changed the freeze plug.

Re: What did you do to your truck today??

Mom's brakes never felt right to anyone that drove it, despite me having changed most every part of the braking system. Similar to my 93 but hers was much worse. So I deleted the ABS. They work much better now. I'll have to do mine next. Hers has the first design ABS, different than mine but should be relatively the same to delete it.

Re: What did you do to your truck today??

I disabled mine by getting anti-seize on a sensor when changing a rotor I've had to stop but quick a few times since. It stops great, and I control the locking

My Suburban has about the same miles on it.

The older ones are just RWAL, the only sensor is the VSS.

Re: What did you do to your truck today??

Replaced the battery cables and the transfer case front output seal. Found some questionable wiring and cleaned it up while I was there. The starter motor solenoid wire fell out of the ring terminal. I'm glad I found that now instead of getting stranded somewhere.

Re: What did you do to your truck today??

It has been raining here a lot lately, and I have been noticing that water has been dripping from the heater box onto the passenger floor mat. I removed the blower motor to investigate (not easy, by the way, and requires the dash to be flexed out of the way). Anyway. I did this while it was raining, and could see with a mirror that water was dripping steadily through the fresh air inlet from the seam of the block-off panel that is glued to the top of the firewall under the cowl. I then removed the cowl and found that the seam sealer was deteriorated to the point where the plate was loose. I removed the plate, cleaned off the old seam sealer with a wire wheel, resealed it, and painted it.

I would never ever consider those wheels.............................................................................................. .............................................. In the '90s . But now all I can say is perfectomente! It's all about the era correct. Plus, once you stop seeing something, it's nice to see it back again. Well, except my ex-wife
